Project Snowflakewas officially kicked off Jan. 31, 2010. I’m 8 years into the research, printing selected children’s hands to observe changes, life lessons and how each one grows into his or her life purpose.
Before the project began, Beth’s hands were printed for the first time in early 2004 when she was 7. She is now 22.
These side-by-side prints below show a noticeable change in Beth’s prints sincelast year. Vertical lines are developing under the pinkie finger on the mound of Mercury inside the blue circle.
In traditional palmistry this formation of vertical lines is called the Medical Stigmata. Famous palmists found this marking on people in the healing arts such as doctors, nurses and veterinarians.
In Richard Unger’s system, which I teach, this configuration is called the Gifted Healer. It indicates someone having exceptional ability to listen and hear what’s truly going on inside another individual from a psychological perspective. The key is for the owner of the marking to trust the insights they are receiving instead of doubting or dismissing their inner knowing.
I’ve seen this marking on photographers, speakers, accountants and many others who are not in a professional healing practice. These owners display an innate ability to hold powerful space for acceptance of what is causing inner upset and conflict.

Do you have the Self-Reliant Head Line? If the start of the Head Line is separated from the beginning of the Life Line, the owner’s thought system will be independent of his or her family of origin, acting autonomously.
If you have this marking of self-reliance, you prefer to figure things out on your own. For example, if you must decide whether to get married or divorced, go to college or quit college, start a job or change vocations, you rely on the resources of your own choosing, which may not include family input.
The handprint above belongs to one of the children in Project Snowflake. I initiated a formal project in early 2010 to observe the changes in the handprints of twelve children starting at ages between five days to eight years old. At the time of this printing she was fifteen years of age. As a youngster, her mental system did not match those of her parents as closely as one might think, even though they lived in a loving and supportive country home environment. She showed signs of operating on her own terms as early as age three. I first printed her hands when she was eight years old; she is now twenty-one. All of her handprints, spanning thirteen years, clearly show her tendency toward independence, freedom, and autonomy. She did her own thing on the soccer field in the sixth grade, not paying much attention to the position to which she had been assigned. At age fourteen, she snuck out of her bedroom in the middle of the night to meet her friends in the schoolyard. At eighteen, she has moved out of her home to work and attend college.
Keep in mind, no one marking tells a complete picture about someone’s character. Blending other eye-catching designs in the hands points to the theme of the owner’s life-story. As an example, combine this self-reliant Head Line with a Hermit Heart Line and the owner’s requirements for freedom and autonomy increase twofold. The Hermit Heart Line indicates necessity for sanctuary time, loyalty and productivity. The handprint above has a Hermit Heart Line, too.
Self-Reliant Positive: I have a large capacity to get the job done, especially when unsupervised.
Self-Reliant Negative: I don’t see the need for help very often, and this can make it challenging to team up with others toward a common goal.
Mantra: I relish in my independent mind, but I am open to receiving support from the team once in a while.
When the Head Line is clear, extends with consistent thickness straight across the hand, as if it were drawn in with a pen, and terminates about one-quarter to one-half inch before the edge of the palm, you’ll find a Super Synthesizer. This person won’t feel fulfilled unless she has an avenue in which to use her multifaceted system of comprehension and analysis. The quote by Greek philosopher Epicurus applies here, “The greater the difficulty, the more glory in surmounting it.”
Think of this very long Head Line acting like an eight-armed octopus that must be in full synthesis mode in order to feel a deep sense of satisfaction. Each of the eight arms is equipped with numerous sense-gathering suction cups, too.
Richard Unger calls such a long, clear Head Line HAL 9000, after the supercomputer in the science fiction story 2001: A Space Odyssey. I relay Unger’s description to my clients and watch their eyes open wide. In unison their body language matches their voice, saying, “Oh yes, that’s me.”
The following is the description I give to my long Head Lined clients and students. In 2001: A Space Odyssey, HAL is the central processing unit that controls everything on an entire Pan Am spaceship on a secret mission from Earth to Jupiter. HAL was the brain and nervous system of the ship and reported all problems to mission control.
HAL was constantly occupied, and said, ”I find things difficult to put out of my mind.” This is the gift and the curse of the octopus brain. On a good day, he put things together in an orderly fashion. On a bad day, he gets into a tangle.
In the end, having a bad day, HAL went haywire. He no longer had big enough problems to solve, so he over-analyzed little problems. The same can be said for someone with a HAL 9000 Head Line when not engaged in big challenging problems—the more complicated, the better. Assembling scraps of fabric for an elaborate quilt or reorganizing an entire corporation may suit Mr. or Ms. HAL, depending on other features in the hands. The Super Synthesizer Head Line has definite mental requirements—large, important projects with massive amounts of data.
Children with long Head Lines need enough intellectual challenge from school and home projects to keep them busy, otherwise they may very well create problems with siblings, friends, or schoolmates.
Once a father brought his eight-year-old daughter to me for a reading. She had a very long and clear Head Line. After I described her talent as a “super-duper computer,” she told me that she was very good at math and loved it. Unfortunately, she was teased by some of her classmates for having an advanced aptitude in mathematics. I encouraged her to maintain true friendships with those who would value her mental gifts.
If you are the owner of a Super Synthesizing Head Line, a sure sign that you’re not using your full potential is relationship problems. By initiating problems in relationships with others, you give yourself juicy problems to wrestle with. This makes HAL very happy, in a computer kind of way.
Super Synthesizer Positive: I use my exceptional mental aptitude to fully engage in colossal complexity, synthesizing large amounts of information.
Super Synthesizer Negative: Without enough data to manipulate, I instigate big problems to solve, usually in relationships.
Mantra: I exercise my ability to engage in the complex synthesis of thoughts without creating tangled webs within my closest relationships.
I met Sawyer Rose just after she was born two years ago. Here is her first hand printing in May 2015 at age 2-years and 3-months. Seeing her fingerprints, even at this early age, gives us insight into her extraordinary life purpose.
Below you’ll find a photo of Riley’s hand prints spanning nine years. Her first printing was in December 2003 when she was seven years old. I’ve included Mom and Dad’s prints. My next step is to look for changes between Riley’s handprints through the years. Then I’ll look for commonalities with her parents. Also on file are her grandparents, great grand mother, one uncle, two cousins and her brother and sister. Did you know the family’s purpose can be determined based on a composite of their fingerprints?
Talus and Mom came by share his two-year-and-seven-month hands with me. He intently performed my requested hand printing, almost without instruction. He printed his baby doll too!
Talus calls this line racing across his hand (above), “A Monkey Line.” The monkey does fly from tree to tree with intent and grace. I also like to think of it like a tight-rope where the walker is very aware of his (or her) every step. Years of practice assure the walker remains wrapped to the line.
I’d like this 8-Year Old to be on my radar for years to come because of a few significant markings on her left hand (below). One particular line called the Line of Apollo is stretching from the bottom of her palm up toward her ring finger (in pink). While it is running a jagged course it still very much indicates the design of a professional artist. Think of someone in the spotlight, maybe on the silver screen, who is a writer, performer with voice and instrument and possibly even a director, all wrapped in one.
She also has a Simian Line running horizontal along her hand from one side to the other (dark teal). The key word for this line is intensity. The emotional and mental systems are merged together. They form a union and lend to the owner doing what they do with all of their being.
Because of the inside organization of emotions with thoughts there can be a sense of misunderstandings with others. With extra care in the communications department – which means purposeful practice in clarifying messages – she can develop into a master of communications. Combine the preceding with the last minute veering of the Apollo Line toward the pinkie finger – the finger of communications – and we may see a theme of interpreting and translating in original and innovative form.
As a reminder, I am not making predictions about her future. The lines can change and are most likely to change with her personal development. The markings in the hand tend to indicate the preferences and inclinations of the owner.
One other line to note is the orange vertical line reaching up toward the index finger. This is the line of inspiration and ambition. This tells me she has an urge to surge with vision. Her high ideals stimulate her vision and thus lead to her inspiring nature.
When combining just these three lines she has the talent of an inspiring and intense artist on her way to mastery. Skills are required to develop mastery and in her case the following will help: practice and persistence in communicating her creative wants, visions, ideas and innovations; then doing them!
On a side note, her life purpose is the Successful Pioneer. As she handles the arrows, stands true to her values and trusts her inner voice, I’d imagine we’ll see big things from this little one. Stay tuned!
Jan. 31, 2010 – Project Snowflake ~ It’s official, Project Snowflake is now under way. Fingerprints, like snowflakes, are unique. There are no two snowflakes alike. My first kid-prints were taken in 2003 when I was taking the Hand Analysis Intensive Training. Snowflake Riley was age 7 then. Now she’s 13. All of her prints, along with her sister (Drue) and brother’s (Logan), are on file. I’ve collected other kid-prints over the years and done readings of kids hands for their parents. The results have been profound and quite helpful to parents. I’ve seen head lines break and re-attach. I’ve seen deep lines of clairvoyance pale over the years. I’ve watched the life challenges shower these kids and have been able to guide parents through changes with potential antidotes for success through greater awareness.
Petit sent me the photographs of Talus’ hands when he was 5 days old. Talus is my youngest snowflake. More photos were taken when he was 3+ months old.
Wil and Shanan brought Ruby to me two years ago when she was 5 months old to record her fingerprints and for her first hand printing. I printed her hands again in Dec. 2009 when she was 2.5 years old. Snowflake Ruby is showing early signs of great independence.
Today, Brandy brought Bethany by to have her hands printed and her fingerprints recorded. She’s my newest snowflake.
In Dec. 2009 I decided to do something special with all these prints and photographs, along with my desire to observe and analyze the hand prints and fingerprints of these amazing children. Hence, Project Snowflake was born.
Note: Fingerprints patterns don’t change. Those unique glyphs form in the womb five months before birth. The lines in the hands DO change over time. The Soul’s agenda is read from the fingerprints. The personality traits are read from the lines and markings in the hands. The personality supports the Soul’s agenda. I don’t make predictions or tell fortunes.
This is hand ‘ANALYSIS’. It’s a science and art. I’m deciphering the hidden information as I see it in the moment. Various etchings, and their combinations help me clarify the potential and the challenges to the owner of the hands.
What is Project Snowflake? I’ll print selected children’s hands, with their parent’s permission, once a year or more over the next ten years – that’s until Dec. 2019. At times of difficulties or positive changes I’ll print again, if possible. I’ll share brief interpretations with the parents and in my newsletters, blog and website.
