Into the Light ~ Interview with Anne Bunnell

Anne Bunnell
Anne Bunnell, CHA and Associate Faculty

Anne Bunnell is an Associate Faculty of the AAHA. She became a Certified Hand Analyst in 2005 through the International Institute of Hand Analysis (IIHA) with Teacher Alana Unger. Anne lives in Petaluma, California.

When and how did you start reading hands?

I decided to study hand analysis in 2004 after experiencing some unexplainable anger issues that had arisen in my life that I couldn’t find the cause of.  After doing some deep work with Alana Unger, it became very clear that it was my Life Purpose screaming for expression that was the source of my angst and anger.  Hand Analysis was my instrument of choice to “get the music out”.

Are you specializing in any particular area of hand analysis? If so, what is it?

Gift markings and heart lines fascinate me.  I find great fun and joy in sharing this information with my client and hearing their stories of how they experience these lines and markings in their own hands.

What is most meaningful to you about reading hands?

I love the sacred trust that happens when someone opens their hands to be read, trusting that they are safe and there is no judgment.  I also am grateful for the opportunity to validate and celebrate who they are with no judgment.

Has your life lesson ever shown up during a reading?  If so, how and what did you learn from that experience?

My Life lesson pays me a visit before every reading, without fail.  It shows up as the left Saturn voice in my head (“surely I don’t know enough yet”).  I have learned to quickly recognize it for what it is and just jump into the reading whole-heartedly anyway, allowing it to unfold.

What really cracks me up is that sometimes, if I have the same life lesson as my client, I struggle to explain about that particular part of their life lesson and sometimes I have even drawn a blank.  So I usually just laugh, fess up, move on and circle back around to it.

How do you apply your life purpose and your life lesson, in other words, how do you see them work together?

The awareness of my life lesson (blind spot) and understanding how it shows up in my life has helped me to more quickly recognize my internal resistance for what it truly is.  I can usually challenge and move through the fear and judgment by going ahead anyway, just taking small steps forward, one at a time.  I have learned that if and when I choose to consciously challenge the belief around my life lesson, some pretty terrific things unfold.

Do you have a bad experience you can share to help others avoid a similar situation?

When I was a student in the IIHA year long program, I did a reading with a woman who was very guarded and had extremely dry hands.  I was having trouble seeing her fingerprints so she applied some lotion that she had to see if that would help.  It did make it easier to see her prints but the lotion was so fragrant that it made me sick to my stomach.  Then, when it came to sharing the information about her life lesson (left Jupiter), she immediately rejected what I had to say and refused to even consider the possibility that this could be her blind spot.  Needless to say I was a bit unnerved and one of us abruptly ended the reading right then and there.  (Actually I think it was my left Saturn life lesson that ended the reading).  Anyway, I learned a few things from that experience:

  1. I was still VERY new at reading hands and took her response as if I had said something wrong (my LL).   The more vocabulary you can gather and use to explain about LP and LL the better.  Ask other hand analysts what words and ideas they use in their readings.
  2. I always carry UNSCENTED lotion in my supplies, just in case.

What advice would you give to new students of Hand Analysis?

My advice to budding Hand Analysts:

  1. Be easy on yourself.  You know more than you think you do.
  2. When you feel overwhelmed…breathe.
  3. Keep an open mind and heart so that you can see what you are learning from the reading as well as your client.
  4. Work on not being attached to the outcome of a reading, you are simply the messenger.
  5. Learn what you can from other Hand Analysts, there is an unending wealth of knowledge in this very supportive community, but please try really hard NOT to compare yourself to other readers.  You will develop your own unique style that brings your gifts and talents to this amazing practice.
  6. Trust the process, there is always a bigger picture at play.

What intentions do you have for your Hand Analysis practice during the next six months?

Separating my practice into the different layers, my intentions for the next six months are to continue with my individual hand readings, develop a new website on squarespace.com (which is very user friendly so I am attempting it myself) and continue to participate in the wonderful classes offered through the AAHA and Earth School.

Hand Analysis of The Passionate Explorer

Below are two markings in the palm of the hand to give me a clue that this 15-year-old is on a passionate exploration at Life U.

What I explained to her:

The purple line running across your palm at the top of the hand is your heart line.  This type of line is called the Passionate heart line.  This tells me that you like excitement and despise boredom. You can express your emotions with a fire-like nature – quick and blunt.  This line also indicates that you are charismatic and people like to be around you, like they would a campfire.  People become mesmerized by the ‘colors’ you exude – blue, red, purple, orange… all those fire-like colors.  The passionate type usually does a good job at expressing her “I wants”.  While you may not always get them, expressing what you want is healthy because you express the energy that wants to be expressed like a river unblocked by a damn.  The upside of your heart line is that you are fun, outgoing, excitable, enthusiastic and passionate.  On a ‘bad day’ you can move into YOUR ‘I wants’ too deeply and forget the desires of others. To balance this it’s good to maintain your desires AND also consider the desires of others.

The pink curving line toward the bottom outer edge of your palm tells me you seek out stimulation as an explorer and investigator.  Again, boredom will drive you crazy so it’s good that you read and have many new opportunities at high school to satisfy your inquisitiveness.  You can also think of this as being a line of curiosity; you like to keep things interesting. Seeking the un-ordinary is ordinary for you.

With the highest ranking fingerprint on your right ring finger, your Life purpose is the Artist – the Woman in the Spotlight being true to her muse.  Expressing your SELF is the most important thing you can do – it’s what you came here to do.  Your life challenge is to feel accomplished and successful while being true to YOU, standing your ground…. all on the life foundation of Peace and Harmony.  I read your ‘challenge’ from your fingerprint patterns on your right Thumb, right middle finger and left ring finger.  The arches on your fingerprints resemble mounds of the earth.  The earth is secure and provides a solid foundation.  You’ll feel best when you feel secure.

As with most things, to know one side you have to know the opposite.  When it comes to Peace, a person, like you, will best know Peace by experiencing and moving through sensations of Panic.  You may feel panic running through your body at different times under various circumstances.  The best thing you can do is to BREATE your way through it and silently remind yourself that you ARE SAFE.  You do have nice long vitality/life lines so you are able to ‘ground’ with ease.

Observations: What’s attention-grabbing is the paradoxical combination of the deep desire for peace and harmony along with the need to explore and investigate the unusual.  Oddly enough, for this youngster, her tranquility could very well be found in her most stimulating adventures.  With a flirtatious flair, she could push the envelope, dance to the edge and sing to the masses with the circ-de-sole, as an example.

Heart Line Fork – Bend-Over-Backwards

Do you rearrange your emotions for others?  Check the Heart Line configuration in your hand.  If you have a line forking off the main Heart Line that looks like a waterfall, you may be rearranging your feelings and actions based on your perceptions of others’ needs and feelings – specifically someone who you view as an ‘underdog’. See the example below where the heart line and the fork are shown in purple.  This indicates a person may often say “Yes” when they really, really want to say “No”.   Hurting feelings is to be avoided at all cost.

Suggestions:

1) Notice the internal emotional rearrangement happening within you

2) Be conscious of YOUR desires and feelings

3) Take your time to silently address another person’s emotional needs without responding right away to his/her words.  Give yourself time to ask yourself what you’d like to do (based on #2 above).

4) Give yourself permission to say “Yes” or “No” in self-loving way.

5) Release self-judgment and critism that you should be emotionally connected in any other way than you are.

A Bundle of Bethany

Bethany and her Mom and Dad came by to have Bethany’s hands printed again.  Her first hand printing was in Jan. 2010, 2nd printing in May 2010, 3rd printing in Aug. 2010 and now Oct. 2011.  She is an absolute bundle of Love.  Two Big Heart Lines have developed.  One heart line is recorded as being ‘short’ in an earlier print and reading.  Now that Heart Line has grown up toward the index finger.  She owns 9 Loops on 10 of  her fingerprints.

Simian Line and The Tight Rope

Insight from the American Academy of Hand Analysis ~ by Kay Packard
Subject: The Tight Rope – Mastering Communications
Marking in the Hand: Simian Line – Heart and Head Lines entwined in Union on one or both hands.

Interpretation: A level of intense behavior is associated with the owner of a simian line(s). The line acts as a divide separating the upper (abstract) and lower (physical) areas of the palm. The divide is like a tight rope, and walking it takes extreme balance, focus, training, skill and courage. The documentary film Man on Wire depicts the dogged drive, interior discipline, and relentless engagement needed to walk the rope. Nothing seems to matter to the ‘man’ but the wire.

Now imagine the difficulty if the rope being walked is being pulled in two different directions, like a game of tug of war. Whoa! That is the challenge facing those with a simian line(s). They find themselves quickly walking, if not sprinting, back and forth between opposites. “Today I want carpet, tomorrow I want wood floors”. And it’s installed within 24 hours by their own hands!

Another challenge for the owner of this marker is to communicate effectively. The thinking system (head) is tightly woven with the feelings (heart) system and therefore usually influences how the words flow out of her mouth. While she feels she is being very clear in her words, the person or group she’s speaking to may misunderstand her. Likewise, words coming into her ears from another may also get garbled up and misinterpreted. This can be frustrating for both parties. Just trying to keep up with the lightning fast progression in a conversation with the owner of a simian line can be exhausting, but very exciting!

There is internal tension here similar to a snake shedding its skin. The old skin is released and the mind/body prepared for the new. Yet the ‘new’ brings uncertainties that can feel awkward and potentially unbearable. This gives the impression of a ‘critical edge’. Their volatility isn’t about another person; it is purely about their internal struggle to understand their own emotional excitement, distress, joy, restlessness, frustration and dissatisfactions.

Recommendation for the Owner: Allow and accept yourself for your tendencies to act/react and then retreat. You seem to feel more than others and you might not understand why they are not as intense as you, or vice-versa, why you are so intense. There is nothing wrong with you. You are amazing! You have tremendous energy for accomplishment and are learning to effectively harness and apply that power. You ‘over-process’ on the inside, so others may see you as either a run away freight train, or aloof and uncaring. Your job is to communicate in a variety of ways to be understood. Practice, practice, practice. Give yourself time to percolate those intense feeling-thoughts, and be sure to have a physical outlet to release them in order  to avoid less healthy ways to calm down. If you feel a desperate need reinvent yourself – hang in there!  You may suddenly transport to a new level in your personal evolutionary journey.  Vigor and drive compel your walk on the tight rope.  Your path of great potential is being a Communications Master!

Relationship Compatibility

by Kay Packard

Relationships are core to every aspect of our life.  Imagine the number of relationship opportunities you have in a day.  You talk, text and listen.  Your body emotes and integrates. How we engage with others depends on endless factors.  We can be attracted, distracted, repulsed or neutral to other people.  Dependencies on relationships with individuals will vary from person to person. Friends, mates, co-workers, children, siblings, parents, strangers and more comprise the roles of relationships.

Each person has a different priority in maintaining relationship, to what level and how intensely.  People inclined to be more introverted than extroverted maintain a different attitude and motivation toward relationship than do those who are more extroverted.  Likewise, ‘thinkers’ will engage more logically than ‘feelers’ who live more through their emotions.

Success in relationship depends largely on you knowing what is important to you in general and at any given moment.  It also depends on you noticing how you react to words, language, beliefs, and actions of other people.  The people around us and how we observe them points directly back to ourselves and the relationship we have with our self.

In the world of hand analysis, each person has a life purpose, a life lesson and a designated life path.  Each person is on a particular training program at Life University.  This training program can be decoded from the vibrational imprint of the fingerprints.  The potential of the soul can be read from those prints and plays a part in relationships.

Key to the Heart

The heart lines in the hand shows the relationship approach of the owner.  By interpreting the heart line types in the hands you get substantial clue as to the inclinations, preferences and requirements of the affections for self and others.

Hand shapes show the personality traits of the owners.  The hand shape can show you the character a person will display in relationship.

Identification and interpretation of gift markings can tremendously help to determine talents and challenges the owner will encounter as an individual.  Those gifted characteristics may also be revealed in relationship.

Overall the consciousness one holds will affect the behavior of every single interaction in relationship.  Consciousness is Self awareness; how tuned-in one is with her own inner-operations.  I like to equate Self awareness to a level of self-love and attentiveness to a style of loving.

The hands hold a key to one’s disposition for relationship.  Through relationship people can heal.  The deepest healing involves love and the healing of love.  Love is more than an emotion; it is a power unto itself.

Consider this power of love as you entwine with another person whether it be on facebook, texting, talking or embracing.  Are you open to learning more about your style in relationship? Do you have a mate to join you in a couples reading? If so use the Contact Us form to schedule time with Kay to analyze your hands and fingerprints and articulate your love-style.

Snowflake River at 3 yrs and 4 months

May 27, 2011: River gave me the green light for printing and taking photos of her hands today.  By looking at her bare fingerprints, the ink prints and the enlarged scans of her prints, all fingerprints could be recognized.  Now I can clarify her Soul Potential and give her Mom and Dad a glimpse into her life challenges.  Those challenges are the guide posts for staying the course – on PURPOSE.

Dusting the Play Yard

Nov. 12, 2010 – Five Snowflakes found in one place – it’s a miracle.  Below are a few shots they posed for.

Anna (above) has two hermit heart lines and two straight head lines.  She also has at least 7 loops on her finger tips.  She thinks, thinks, thinks how she’s  f e e l i n g  and let you know about it when she’s good and ready, and not a moment before-hand.

Fin (above) reluctantly let me take his photo.  Momma advised he wouldn’t get a cupcake until he did!  I’m not sure if that’s the best way for me to be introduced, but I’ll take it.

Fin has a Simian-like head and heart line.  This shows the great intensity he brings to his play-projects.

Even though the shadows make it hard to see her hands (above), I had to post this picture of River because she is just too cute!

Ok, Maverick (above) wasn’t into having his hands read today, but he’s thinking about it!  Even when he fell asleep in Momma’s arms, and we tried to open his hands, he preferred to keep his fingers nestled into the palms of his hands.

Great shot of Wyatt’s left hand (above). His Thumb and neighboring Venus zone are sure plump.  The Thumb is all about doing and rearranging.  Venus is all about beauty and pleasure.  Combine the two and you’ve got a little-one wanting results in the fun department.

He’s very strong!

What’s baby talk for “Ok, you can let go now?”

A success!

Now for the other hand.  Momma was instrumental in ‘all’ of this!

Celebrating in style in Aug. 2008

Aug. 27, 2010 Logan’s Life Purpose is the Mentor as and to Individualists – those who express their most creative selves.  Being in the spot light is easy and ‘demanded’ at his young age of 8. By expressing his most authentic feelings, fully and completely, he’ll see the most creative ‘students’ flock to his call.  He has a little bubble on his right head line under Apollo.  This can represent strong and solid thinking and processing about his creative urges until he notices people ‘watching him’ then he’ll either amp up the charisma or hides behind the curtains.  So far, his on-stage character is in full throttle.
