When a Head Line travels across the palm on a steady course, then flips upward at the end, its owner may have an uncontrollable urge to get to the bottom line and speak his or her truth. It’s as if the pinkie finger is invisibly pulling the end of the Head Line upward.
Here we have someone who is highly alert, shrewd and clever.
Good News: Quick, sharp and clever supercomputer
The long Head Line implies a supercomputer, and the upward flip denotes the ability to dart to the bottom line at lightning speed. This person is aware of what is really going on behind the scenes. He or she is quite astute and can condense a two-hour movie into two sentences. The author of the CliffsNotes who summarized the literary work of War and Peace probably had the Bottom Line Thinker Head Line configuration.
Bad News Possibility:
One owner of this line configuration told me, “It can be very painful to listen to someone drag out a story or an explanation when I already know where it’s going. I’ve learned how crucial it is to be patient and to bite my tongue so that others can finish speaking.”
When someone is wired for getting to the bottom line and telling it like it is spontaneously, he can appear quite insensitive. Friends and family may not have praised his or her urge to “get to the point” or his or her skill in doing so.
Favorable outlets and vocations
It’s important for the person with this marking to find an approving audience for his agile, extra-aware, no-nonsense mind, otherwise he may be considered callous and ruthless.
The best remedy is for such a person is to have an outlet in which he can be fully engaged in truth-telling, while being in an arena where he is accepted and acknowledged for that skill.
Positive vocations for the Bottom Line Thinker would be as a consultant, coach, heart surgeon, attorney, security officer, fire captain, magazine or pod cast editor.
Strength: Count on me for the truth without fluff.
Pitfall: Without being tactful, my sharp, bottom line mind can alienate friends and family or, worse, I’ll stuff it all in self-condemnation.
Money Mindset: With consideration I use my laser-sharp mind effectively in self-employment or in an occupation where I am and highly appreciated and financially compensated.
Breakthrough Questions: What’s your secret to tactfully get others’ to the bottom line?
To find the Ring of Saturn look underneath the middle finger on the Saturn mount. It resembles a half circle or an open bucket. Key words: security, safety, caution, pessimism and isolation.
The Downside Possibility
It’s important to know about this because this bucket acts as a barrier to the continuity of the energy or current running through the finger. On the down side the ring shuts out the advanced Saturn quality of wisdom. With this energy in jeopardy the owner may hop around from job to job because he or she is lacking in direction. A solid ring will be most challenging but the potency is decreased when it is ‘stitched in’.
The sense of long-term isolation is not uncommon with this rare challenge marking. He or she thinks, “I’m all alone in this abysmal world.” In secret, he or she feels scared. They’re prone to over react to what may appear threatening. Alternatively, the owner acts with bravado portraying, “nothing scares me.”
Did you see the Conspiracy Theory with Mel Gibson and Julia Roberts? The film centers on an eccentric taxi driver Mel Gibson in New York City who believes many world events are triggered by government conspiracies. We don’t know what was true and what wasn’t.
The Upside Possibility
On the upside the owner of a Ring of Saturn demonstrates appropriate cautiousness. He or she always has a Plan “B.” The owner understands other people’s pessimism. They have an inside voice of caution. Their doubt and skepticism operate in a more constructive way where they don’t get stuck in pessimism. They have a healthy outlet for preparedness.
Constructive roles include:
Boy Scout leader who was trained to ‘be prepared’
Drill sergeant shaping civilians into the best soldiers in the world
Secret service agent assigned to protect government and political leaders and their families
Ring of Saturn owners also do well planning for and preventing bomb threats and terrorist attacks. At their best they transform paralyzing fear and pessimism into performance as fierce protectors.
Key Word: Security
Strength: Every possible scenario is considered to keep people safe.
Pitfall: I drown in pessimism feeling alone and isolated.
Money Mindset: My intelligence is highly valued for safety and security and I am paid handsomely.
Question: How can you use your “Here’s plan B” expertise to create greater wealth? Where would your consulting skills be best utilized and recognized?
To generate revenue, it’s crucial to uncover internal blocks to the flow of money. Certain markings will pinpoint the themes of your personal money obstacles.
You can learn to use those road blocks as road signs to redirect your mental patterns and precious energy so that you can make more money.
Harness the pitfalls, I’m offering in these lessons, besides the strengths, to gain valuable self-knowledge to overcome related hurdles and barriers.
Check out the following two money maps. At the end of this post you’ll find an example how to blend the two configurations for a more impactful assessment.
Lesson #3 Making money through family and perpetual learning
Money through the family
Fate Line starts inside the Life Line
When the Line of Saturn (blue vertical line in the image above) starts inside the Life Line, the owner makes money through family business. Will you take over the family farm, real estate company or investment firm? Are you reaping the benefits of a long-term family investment? Do your values align with the family?
Sticking with the status quo and resisting change is an obstacle with this marking. Milking cows for business is no longer done by hand. Instead of selling mansions, success in real estate comes through flipping properties for profit.
‘Family’ may also include a clan you’ve been associated with for many years such as a religious organization.
Strength: Access to family assets and business developed over time
Pitfall: Stuck in “this is the way it’s always been done”
Money Mindset: I add tremendous value to the family business and I deserve generous compensation for my dedication, loyalty and ability to adapt to change
The Eternal Student
Fate Line starts high on the Life Line
You love learning something new if the Fate Line (blue line in the image above) starts high on the Life Line in your hand. You’re a perpetual student. You’ll enjoy taking classes and getting degrees into your 40’s and 50’s. Ask yourself: How do you balance the costs of tuition and generating revenue?
You are a perfect candidate to become financially free as long as you study the laws of money. Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki offers financial education content to help readers learn about cash flow, assets, liabilities, real estate, and investing.
Strength: I love learning something new and I have impressive credentials
Pitfall: Limited income while taking courses
Money Mindset: I balance my desire to take new courses with determination to generate revenue through financial intelligence
It is possible to have one type of Fate Line on one hand and another type on the other hands. Blending the meaning of both configurations paints a bigger picture for the owner. For example, when combining the two maps in this lesson, the owner would be inclined to continual learning for family business.
Keep an eye out for the next lesson to learn to read the money map inscribed into your own two hands.
Are you ready to shape and manifest your money story?
In this series of lessons, we’ll decode the inscriptions and reveal your personal map’s wisdom to:

Multiple Saturn Lines
Contrary to the configuration shown in my last lesson (Your Money Map), the illustration below shows several vertical lines climbing toward the Saturn finger. Multiple Saturn lines indicate determination and a tendency to take on many projects. The good news is that this person has plenty of drive. The bad news is that this person may have too many projects going on at the same time, with none getting finished, resulting in a feeling of inadequacy. The owner of this line is challenged to commit to one project and follow it through to completion.
Fate Line Configuration Lesson #2
Multiple Saturn Lines
(Pieces of blue vertical lines under the middle finger)
Develop new habits to finish projects
Several vertical lines climbing toward the middle finger signify being divided between many endeavors. For example, one may love to cook, is writing a cook book as well as writing a book how to parent and rebuilding a 1966 Mustang. As a result, attention is scattered and either the projects are taking a very long time to complete or none get completed at all.
If you own this configuration and you truly feel good about the variety, then be happy with that. Replace feelings of guilt and inadequacy with confidence and joy in your effort. However, if money is something you want more of and you acknowledge your habit of ‘project or job hop’ then make an intention to create new habits to focus. Finish projects, tasks and jobs that generate revenue.
Strength: Variety of skills and interests make me knowledgeable
Pitfall: Difficulty finishing what was started
Money Mindset: I am conscious where I put my commitments and I set intentions to stay on track achieving outstanding results

Did you know your personalized money map is inscribed into the palms of your hands like a blueprint?
Do you want financial freedom?
Why look anywhere other than your own two hands and the personalized money map encoded there. Imprinted in your own two hands is a chart to help you uncover hidden treasures of wealth, prosperity and wisdom.
I’ll be focusing on this topic for several upcoming articles because an editor from the prestigious Real Simple magazine recently asked me to write about the “money line” in the hand. She asked because the 7.6 million magazine readership, of which 90% are women, want insights into generating more money so they can worry less about their families and their future.
Will I make money?
Many people who have shown me their hands have asked, “Will I make money?” A better question to ask is, “What is the best way for me to make money?” My job is to help you find out who the ‘me’ is that’s asking and wanting to create more affluence. You are a unique, one-of-a-kind who has special talents, remarkable dreams, personalized goals, an individualized level of vitality and a certain emotional drive that needs to be ascertained so that you’re most effective in making your riches. This is where your hands come in handy (pun intended).
Look at the money map in your own two hands
To help you answer the question, “What is the best way for me to make money?” look at your own two hands. Use the glyphs stamped in your hands as a blueprint for declaring your worth, capitalizing on your strengths and shoring up your weaknesses so that you can create, attract and manifest more money in your life, starting now.
The money line
The vertical line of Saturn rising to the middle finger has been called the Fate Line, the Career Line, the Line of Destiny and the Money Line. Saturn energy urges one to accomplish tasks through extended effort and responsibility over time. The length, quality, and quantity of lines under this finger are interpreted to understand how the owner demonstrates responsibility through effort. Effort is made through organization, structure, and discipline. Experience and knowledge support organizational skills. We typically see these Saturnian characteristics in work, projects, and careers. As effort is put forth in work, money typically appears.
Fate Line Configurations Lesson #1
Long Straight Saturn Line
(blue vertical line under the middle finger)
The long, straight Line of Saturn indicates an organized person, with systems in place to complete tasks with perfect outcomes. In the positive this person fulfills commitments and is driven by a thirst for knowledge. In the negative this person may take on too much responsibility or feel overly responsible for the well-being of others.
Strength: Determined, driven
Potential Pitfall: Excessive responsibility

Hand Analysts: How to Become More Precise When Giving a Hand Reading
By Kay Packard
When learning anything new we must first take baby steps before walking and then running. The same is true in learning how to read hands and fingerprints.
The foundation for readings hands is to learn what the sections of the hands and fingers signifies. Next is to understand the meaning of the symbol, line, color and prominent areas of the hand.
For example, in my last article on the Jupiter Star I pointed out the location of the Jupiter Mount, the archetypal significance Jupiter and the effects of the twinkling star in one’s life. In short, at her best, the owner of the Jupiter Star is high achieving and has the gift of influence and leadership over a fitting territory. On the down side she could be lacking confidence, avoiding confrontation and hanging out behind the throne.
To become more accurate and pinpointing when giving a reading the professional hand analyst will blend two markings she sees in the hands. For instance, when a hand has a Jupiter Star and a Line of Persephone the advancing reader will blend the explanations for the Line of Persephone (aka Guide for Lost Souls) to rise strong in her call to influence a particular territory.
While many Guides for Lost Souls, who I have read for, owning the Line of Persephone are often trapped in the downside possibility of the marking, my aim is to empower them with the potential of becoming Queen of the Underworld empowering other lost souls to find their strength and choose to re-surface from the land of Hades (during spring and summer).
As a reader, I must have a conversation to assess where the Guide for Lost Souls currently dwells on the life pendulum of feeling trapped in despair versus overseeing wounded souls. Lost souls can include abandoned dogs, foster children, recovering substance users, hospice patients; basically, anyone who is ‘slothing through the sludge’ (phrase shared by Certified Hand Analyst Isadora Arielle).
Jupiter Star key words: Powerlessness, overwhelm, high achieving, ambition, influence, leadership, throne
Phrases when combining the two markings
Totally trapped, confused, lost, overwhelmed with grief, paralyzed in fear of confrontation
High achieving guide for disoriented souls
Way shower for bewildered and disheartened individuals shining a bright light for uplift and encouragement
Directing a center(s) for revitalized and thriving wayward souls
A Critical Factor
Discussing the negative path is critical for the advancement of this powerful combination because of the indicated subconscious patterns in day-to-day living (e.g. in grief, overwhelm, powerlessness). Clients feel wholly seen when they hear about the paralyzing effects by which they have been seized, often for years. The validating analysis, read in the hands, paints a realistic picture of optimism for growth and transformation, and ultimately – freedom.
I recently watched 91-year-old concentration camp survivor, therapist and author, Edith Eva Egar who was interviewed by Oprah on Super Soul Sunday. In her book The Choice: Embrace the Possible she wrote, “Our painful experiences aren’t a liability—they’re a gift. They give us perspective and meaning, an opportunity to find our unique purpose and our strength.”
Dr. Egar also said, “Here you are! In the sacred present. I can’t heal you—or anyone—but I can celebrate your choice to dismantle the prison in your mind, brick by brick. You can’t change what happened, you can’t change what you did or what was done to you. But you can choose how you live now. My precious, you can choose to be free.”
Dr. Edith Eva Egar facilitates patients’ uncovering past trauma and healing. Simply, the title of the book conveys the power in the combination of influential Jupiter with the Guidance of Persephone as the Queen of the Underworld.
Death with Dignity across the U.S. supporting the terminally ill to die on their own terms.
A Jewish woman dedicated to helping concentration camp survivors die peacefully by facilitating forgiveness toward their German perpetrators.
Tip to Identify the Key in the Hand
Hand Readers, play with blending. Your clients will love you for it. And yes, blend in a third and fourth marking to get to the key in the hand. With practice you will get to the central theme and unique story to help your client realize her greatest potential and give her golden nuggets for expanding into her most sacred life.
“Having a dream is what keeps you alive. Overcoming the challenges makes life worth living.” Mary Tyler Moore
Your fingerprints contain the secret code for living on purpose.
Knowing your life’s purpose is one thing. Living on purpose is another.
Q: How do you feel when you’re living on purpose?
A: Peaceful, at ease, in the flow, in your zone.
Q: How do you know when you’re off track?
A: Life is confusing, a constant struggle, as if you’re riding a bicycle in a river against the current.
In Oprah Winfrey’s new book The Path Made Clear: Discovering Your Life’s Direction and Purpose she says, “I believe every one of us is born with a purpose. No matter who you are, what you do, or how far you think you have to go, you have been tapped by a force greater than yourself to step into your God-given calling. This goes far beyond what you do to earn your living. I’m talking about a supreme moment of destiny, the reason you are here on earth.”
I would love for Oprah to know that each person’s life purpose and life lesson is precisely encoded into the unique fingerprint patterns. I’m in full agreement with her further statement: “Committing to a life of purpose takes courage.”
When you feel like you’ve lost your way, and meaning has escaped your path, take these tips to return to your purpose:
Take a breath
Make an honest inventory of your grievances, control issues, criticisms and what you’re resisting.
Get into the sandbox with your life’s lessons. The lessons I’m talking about are the repeating patterns of obstacles that prevent a positive attitude that all things in life are in support of your purpose. Being in the sandbox with your lessons creates a sense of play. A playful approach can strengthen skills to handle your lessons.
Life lesson example
Let’s say your life lesson, according to your fingerprints, is not trusting in yourself and therefore not speaking up when it matters most.
You’re here to learn to listen deeply for your truth, to speak up, be heard and to appropriately surrender to your life’s natural flow. The challenge is not to surrender yourself too much or too little…but just right.
(In this example) As you courageously speak up for yourself in the name of your inner truth (not your opinion or stance to be ‘right’ or better) and you surrender appropriately, you develop skills in trust – trusting in yourself – that what you have to say is important and meaningful. You’re learning to trust in your voice regardless of the potential acceptance or rejection that may result.
This creates space for authentic intimacy with others because you are being true to you. Imagine that!
Now, your life’s purpose will certainly bloom with the advanced skills you bravely heightened through your life lessons.
Hand Analyst Chris Kidder pointed me to an article in Science Daily where a recent study indicates people with strong life purpose may take less effort when making healthier choices.
This research showed that people with a stronger sense of life purpose are more likely to respond positively to health messages and experience less activity in brain regions associated with conflict. Read article…

It’s quite exciting for a hand reader to find a Whorl pattern in the palm of the hand. To find a Whorl in both palms of a person’s hands is doubly sensational.
In nature, the Whorl (above) is not ordinarily found. Although you’ve probably seen them on the digits (fingers and thumbs) of the hand. The concentric circles, creating the whorl symbol, can also be found on the surface of a tree trunk after it’s been cut down.
Finding a Whorl in the Mars Mount of the hand is a big deal and must be elevated to great importance in the reading. Advanced Martian living becomes the life purpose, where the owner will feel most fulfilled and satisfied in his or her life.
These two hands (above) came across my desk this week and both, belonging to the same owner, have Whorls on the Mount of Mars (inside pink colored circles). Some professional readers may call these glyphs Peacocks and I wouldn’t argue. Either way, the implication needs to be elevated to Life Purpose position.
Mars (Roman)/Ares (Greek) is known as the God of War.
Ares as the embodiment of aggression, has been one of the strongest forces working through human history. He is Olympos’ “Action Man,” the god of war and strife, the restless and turbulent lover, thriving on conflict and rejoicing in the delight of battle. In Ares we see our own aggression raw and bloody, before civilization tempered or repressed it. – Arianna Stassinopoulos, The Gods of Greece
“Of the twelve Olympians, The Greeks places Ares in the least respected position because of his irrationality and battle frenzy. He represented the uncontrollable lust for battle and bloodshed. In contrast, as Mars, the Romans held him in high regard, second only to Jupiter (Roman)/Zeus (Greek) in importance.” – Jean Shinoda Bolan, Gods in Every Man
The story and imagery portrayed in mythology is fascinating. The archetypal associations in our lives is quite relevant when more deeply investigating and understanding our motivations, values and preferences.
When describing what the Whorl in the Mars zone of the hand means to the owner, the hand reader will be spot on when dialoging about the Mars/Ares archetypal patterns of engagement.
When discussing a strong Mars Mount, Star or Whorl in this area I refer to Diana/Wonder Woman with women, Clark Kent/Superman to men and the Incredible Hulk to children and teens. Each represent Hero’s and Protectors. Brutus (as in Popeye), as Brawler, is an alternative side of Mars that will most likely be part of the owners learning journey at some point or another.
Ares and Aphrodite, Goddess of Love, were notable lovers. Both love and war come together in this union. Great passion is portrayed in love and war so unleashed passion is not surprising for the Action Wo/Man. Having an appropriate outlet for this eminent level of vitality is important for the health and well-being of this archetype.
Standing up for the underdog brings fulfillment to the owner with a well-marked Mars zone, which includes a Whorl here. The Warrior needs a cause, something to stand for, to protect. The Whorl indicates a life purpose where his or her exceptional courage and bravery must be exercised.
Martians do best when using their fierce nature, defending those who are unable to stand up for themselves – such as mistreated animals, foster children, veterans or battered women – to name a few. However, if this hero-type doesn’t have an appropriate cause for all this energy, he or she just may end up feeling weak and cowardly, or the opposite – impulsively violent.
Just like the Lion in “Wizard of Oz,” owners of a Mars Whorl must have a bold and fearless course of action to devote their enthusiasm toward. The aim is to evolve from Ares into Mars, the battle-lusting Greek God of War into the protector of the community, successfully navigating conflict as the Roman Mars.
Look for the Mars archetype in the following vocations: Commander in Chief, Athletic coach, building demolition, construction, conflict resolution, advocacy.

Below are conversations had on Facebook about the above article after being posted:
Jennifer Hirschsuch a precious find, magnificent! I wonder about the contradiction of the less assertive traits shown in the short low set water finger of the left hand…. fascinating!
American Academy of Hand AnalysisGood eye Jennifer. With the low set and short Jupiter, he might go either way – less assertive and lacking confidence and/or pushy, getting angry when feeling disrespected.
Brent Bruning“The Greeks places Ares in the least respected position because of his irrationality and battle frenzy. He represented the uncontrollable lust for battle and bloodshed. In contrast, as Mars, the Romans held him in high regard, second only to Jupiter (Roman)/Zeus (Greek) in importance” — brilliant, love it. And they are overwhelmingly attracted to being the hero for underdogs no question. I found this in the horror film director Michael Steiner who wrote the film Grounding in defense of the people who lost their job, as well as a great horror film Sennentuschi. My brother has one as well – who built an international company rescuing reclaimed tai-furniture (wagon wheels) and making it as furniture. Mars has a conflict side for sure and all of them are attracted to hot irons. But they also have a playful side, the need for liberation and exalt and defend the childlike freedom and kids’s rights to explore boundaries and go through initiations. Great article. My brother below. No conflict there hahaha.
Brent BruningHe has been a lifelong case study. Fought in high school, had the Mustang car at 14, very popular with girls and guys looked up to him, worked his way through college, fought during his graduation, left the corporation after 2 years to travel the world, surf, bartend and live in a shipping container on a beach in hawaii, start his own company, tear it all down, craft furniture, work with kids at camp, work with kids at university… everything mars.
The Rational Romantic Heart Line, linked to the element Air, is long, flat, and straight, and ends in the lower left quadrant formed by an imaginary cross below the index finger. See the image below with the arrows at the start and end of the Heart Line.
If you own this Heart Line, you are constantly assessing, analyzing, and pondering your own feelings and those of others. You loathe fights because disagreements give you even more to think, think, think about. Your thoughts swirl around you like the wind. One of your favorites songs might be “How Deep Is Your Love” by the Bee Gees. Meaningful conversations, in which you have time to actually dialog with another person are of utmost importance. Subtle nuances of words or facial expressions can put you into a tailspin of “What did she mean by that?” Your biggest challenge is to minimize your own mental editing. Overly processing feelings come naturally to the Rational Romantic, and your best trait is consideration. It’s very important for you to recognize and respect your own needs and desires and to make requests for those needs to be fulfilled.
Key Points: Thoughtfulness, consideration, intellectuality, high-mindedness, meaning, examination and indecisiveness.
Rational Romantic Positive: I am considerate and understanding of the thoughts and feelings of others.
Rational Romantic Negative: I can lose myself in ideals and excessive analysis of others.
Mantra: While I am appropriately thoughtful of the emotional needs of others, I am also aware of and honor my own passions.
What if you knew the source of stress showing up in your life, why it shows up, and what you can do about it?
When a line, or several lines extend across the hand from the inside of the palm just below the start of the Life Line and just above the inset of the Thumb, you’ll find a stress indicator a.k.a. attack line. Severity of stress is determined by a higher quantity of lines, or how deeply they are chiseled.
The hand map below shows a variety of pathways the lines can take.
Figure 1: The colored lines map a variety of ways attack lines can appear.
The etching reflects a repeated pattern of disequilibrium in a particular area of life. These types of lines are common to see in hands. In fact, it is unusual not to find a few of these lines inscribed diagonally across the palm – even in children.
Effective ways to overcome the obstacles can be addressed after pinpointing the length and quality of the impression of the line. In essence, the line becomes a rock solid opportunity-indicator for harnessing the undeniable problematic energy it represents. Specifics about the area of stress are deciphered by detecting where the line(s) ends.
They have been called attack lines because they originate in the area of the palm called Mars. To better understand these stress indicators let’s consider the Roman mythological archetype, Mars. He is known as the god of war always wearing a shield of armor; built to do battle in an instant. When Mars has a particular cause he stands tall, can become aggressive and even rageful. Women like Joan of Arc and Wonder Woman personify this archetype, too.
For example, if you see an attack line stretching across your palm and it ends under your ring finger then you might feel a looming sense of fear of rejection related to something you have created or want to create.
For example, putting yourself out there to make a spaghetti dinner for visiting friends can make you a nervous wreck over the quantity of each ingredient to combine so that it looks and tastes just right. When this fear is present then the, “I’m just sure I’m going to be criticized” radar is triggered. Not receiving applause for the dinner can even feel like an attack. This in turn could launch an immediate defense such as, “I know, if I would have used farm raised ground beef instead, this would be much better.” Keep in mind; none of the guests have yet said a word about the spaghetti dinner!
In this example, the owner can feel an inherent disapproval of his or her individualistic nature. Here is a bellowing call for courage! With the attack line ending under the ring finger, there is a call to feel the fear of the tomato and make the spaghetti anyway. It’s helpful to consider the worst-case scenarios but not to dwell on them, but instead to give them airtime and turn the obstacle into an opportunity for growth. The most important point is to reject the tomato fear and find a way into to your heart-felt creations.
Lines of Courage is another phrase I use for attack lines because there is a call for a change to balance the disequilibrium and change frequently requires courage to do something differently. Courage lines present an opportunity to discover and understand the source of conflict so that it can be harnessed for building a better life. But that takes bravery. The example of making the spaghetti dinner and presenting it to the guests even with paralyzing fear of rejection, takes a heavy dose of daring to put ones self at stake.
By knowing more about the meaning associated with the various end points of the lines in the hands we better understand the warnings, the positive and negative possibilities, and precisely how to use the God-given-glyph to cultivate a plan for growth.
