Into the Light ~ Interview with AnnMarie Roth

AnnMarie Roth, AAHA CHA
AnnMarie Roth, AAHA CHA

Meet AnnMarie Roth! She is an AAHA Certified Hand Analyst and Natural Therapeutic Specialist (NTS). She lives at the foot of the beautiful Green Mountains in Vermont, USA.

When and how did you start reading hands?

I completed my first level of training in 2010, after having my own hands read and taking part in an online and then a live hand analysis event (where I first met you!).  Then, in 2011 I started studying with you intensively and completed my certification through the AAHA last year (2012).  I added Certified Hand Analyst (CHA) to my professional portfolio because it’s a tremendously powerful tool that can guide people to their most meaningful and divinely aligned lives as they develop greater self-knowledge and self-love.

Are you specializing in any particular area of hand analysis? If so, what is it?

I work primarily with folks who haven’t found their sweet spot yet or who are getting ready for what’s next and looking for some insightful guidance.  In our work together we often spend time learning to befriend their Life Lesson, as so much personal and professional growth can come from that.  I also have a special affinity with people who have multiple, high ranking, Composite Whorls.  I completed my certification research project on composites and gain tremendous fulfillment in helping my clients who have them come to understand them better and thus develop greater compassion for themselves.

What is most meaningful to you about reading hands?

I think it’s the trust and intimacy of it.  As a healer, I can say that my work in general is intimate, yet with Hand Analysis, now after three years, that is taken to an entirely different level. When a client places her hands in mine she is allowing me to glimpse inside her soul, as well as her personal psyche.  Placing that amount of trust in me is humbling.

Has your life lesson ever shown up during a reading?  If so, how and what did you learn from that experience?

Gee, Left Saturn perhaps?  Of my two LLs, it’s Left Saturn that comes out to play when I’m preparing for a reading.  It loves to question my ability and my right to do what I’m doing. I look at it as another opportunity to embrace the lesson and to work to release it, if only temporarily, and to keep moving forward.  By the end of each reading, it has had to concede that it was wrong.

How do you apply your life purpose and your life lesson, in other words, how do you see them work together?

Because my LP involves composites, I’ve had to commit to working very consciously with my LLs in order to truly inhabit my purpose.   A willingness to acknowledge them and the courage to learn what they have to teach me in a given situation can make all the difference between living in alignment with my purpose and wallowing in the self-pitying misery of my lessons.  It’s a workout, I tell you!

What are your fingerprint patterns?

Comp Radial Peacock Loop Loop Entwined Loop

Do you have a bad experience you can share to help others avoid a similar situation?

Here are my Life Lessons showing up..the only negative experience I can think of has been not taking advantage of opportunities to read hands.  I’ve read for people who don’t resonate with some aspect of their soul psychology or who are overtly skeptical, and it has always been ok; nothing bad happened and it said nothing about me or my abilities.  Letting my LLs talk me out of the chance to do this wonderful work, now that has been something to learn from.  For me, that lesson has been to keep doing the healing work I need to do so that my own LLs no longer prevent me from helping others on their own healing journey.

What advice would you give to new students of Hand Analysis?

Ask questions — there is so much to learn and there is no way everything will make sense the first time, so if something isn’t clicking, ask questions.

Realize that this is/can be a life long pursuit — there are always opportunities to learn more, so please don’t believe that you have to, or even can, master it all in a short period of time.  Richard Unger keeps learning more, and so do the rest of us.

What you can master in a short period of time, however, is tremendous, so start sharing what you already know.

Take the time to discover the best settings for you to share hand analysis with others.  You might enjoy it all, but you’ll likely find that you prefer one or two milieux, such as private, in-depth sessions, or the fast pace of events, or maybe even workshops, small or large.  You don’t need to do it all to be successful and to make a difference in people’s lives.

What intentions do you have for your Hand Analysis practice during the next six months?

My plan is to begin running more local groups out of my healing center here in VT.  I have a vision of lighting up my community with women who are stepping up to claim their Life Purposes and learning how to lovingly care for themselves so that they can live the fullest expressions of who they are called to be.

Into the Light ~ Interview with Peggie Arvidson

Peggie Arvidson, IIHA CHA
Peggie Arvidson, IIHA CHA

Meet Certified and professionally practicing Hand Analyst, Peggie Arvidson. She is a Career Transition Specialist.

When and how did you start reading hands?

I honestly started “reading” hands after taking out a book from the public library – probably in 5th grade. It was so intriguing but the books were confusing. I started again in college and then I completed my IIHA certification in 2005.

Are you specializing in any particular area of hand analysis?

I specialize in using hand analysis to help people find fulfilling and lucrative careers.

What is most meaningful to you about reading hands?

The wisdom they hold. I see each hand and each reading as an opportunity to affirm another’s true worth and mirror it back to them.

Has your life lesson ever shown up during a reading?  If so, how and what did you learn from that experience?

My life lesson is Trust/Surrender/Intimacy Challenges – so, on a regular basis it can show up. Especially when I was a “new” reader – I was so afraid that I wasn’t ready. I didn’t trust my inner wisdom and my hard-earned training. I learn regularly that when I lean into the mysteries of life, no matter how they show up, I get to live more fully.

How do you apply your life purpose and your life lesson, in other words, how do you see them work together?

Some spiritual teachers believe that our life purpose IS to learn lessons and then pass them on in whatever way we can be of service.  I look at my lesson/purpose in this way. For me I could no more separate one from the other than I could separate my foot from my leg. My lesson is the greatest gift and teacher I have and every time I choose to learn to trust (myself/Spirit/my fellow beings) wisely, opportunities to expand my purpose in the world abound. It happens in my business, in my love partnership and in my family and friend dynamics all the time!

What are your fingerprint patterns?

Do you have a bad experience you can share to help others avoid a similar situation?

Every time I’ve said “yes” to discounting my prices or working with someone who “had to have a reading RIGHT NOW” I’ve been sorry. For me it’s about knowing your boundaries and honoring them and not falling prey to someone else’s “stuff.”

What advice would you give to new students of Hand Analysis?

Learn the data and don’t be afraid of your intuition! I was so “anti” intuition and focused on data that I think it took me longer to find my focus. (This is definitely a life lesson situation for Trust people!)

What intentions do you have for your Hand Analysis practice during the next six months?

To serve more people who are ready to get out of their soul-sucking jobs – by showing them the gifts and talents and opportunities in their hands. I’d really like to impact as many government agencies and contracting companies in a positive way as I can. I live around Washington DC, and it’s the land of the disgruntled brilliant employee. I’d love to help at least 100 of them find joy at work so that they can positively change the world from ‘inside the system.’

Into the Light ~ Interview with Marilyn Sorensen

Marilyn Sorensen, AAHA CHA
Marilyn Sorensen, AAHA CHA

Meet Marilyn! She is a Certified Hand Analyst (CHA) with title: Money, Marketing and Soul Coach. She lives in West Jordan, Utah.

When and how did you start reading hands?

I would say that I officially started reading hands March of 2011 after dabbling with it for about 18 months. I actually had my hands looked at for the first time when I was 18 years old. Then in 2010, hand analysis came on to my radar a couple of time. I can tend to have shiny object syndrome. So I let it stew for awhile to decide if I really wanted to invest the time to learn. It nagged at me until I said YES, and I fell in love with it instantly!

Are you specializing in any particular area of hand analysis?

I guess my specialization chose me. At first I really wanted to focus on the Life Lesson, and I still do. However, since my hands are very full with Gift Markings, I seem to attract many clients who also have multiple gifts and talents to develop. I understand the frustrations and confusion that having many things you are really great at can bring. I know my clients well because I am them. So bringing clarity and confidence helps embrace the discovery of how to bring attention to the gifts.

What is most meaningful to you about reading hands?

The hands have always been a sacred space to me. In every career I have had, it was about the hands. It is such an honor and privilege to have the opportunity to help another person discover their Soul’s Agenda. Helping them gain an awareness of what lessons, they have agreed to learn, develop and grow in to is so exciting. Learning more about own sacred contract helps us feel connected to the rest of humanity at a deeper level.

Has your life lesson ever shown up during a reading? If so, how and what did you learn from that experience?

Well of course my life lesson has shown up in a reading before, in fact it still does. For me if a client seems very quiet, or isn’t giving me a lot of glowing feedback, at times I might slip in to worrying that I am not doing it right or delivering the information in a way that they feel it is really valuable information and insights. Sometimes I have even caught myself arguing with my own intuition. So yes once in awhile the self judgement creeps in and I have to thank it for sharing and shelve it away, so that I can re-focus on the information as I discover it in the hands and just do it!

How do you apply your life purpose and your life lesson, in other words, how do you see them work together?

One of the ways I often see my life purpose and life lesson work together is when I am getting ready to launch a new group program. As an entrepreneur I can often do things all alone. Since part of my Life Purpose is to create community connections, doing things solo is going against my nature. Likewise when I start things in a group I can go right in to self criticism. So for me I am now consciously attempting to schedule in time to have a massage scheduled after an event. Sending myself a congratulations card when I am nervous about “doing it right” or “being seen”. The biggest way I see them working together is being willing to experience them both, and loving myself for who I am and who I am not.

What are your fingerprint patterns?

Loop Loop Loop Loop Loop
Composite Whorl Loop Loop Loop Loop

Do you have a bad experience you can share to help others avoid a similar situation?

I would recommend to really manage your own well being and and to pace yourself if you are reading hands at a large group event. I have done a couple of events where I did “quick peeks” for 3 hours at a time. I have discovered that I have a capacity that once it’s met, it just seems hard for me to “see” the hands and read the prints. I now know that for me really 2.5 hours is the maximum for me. I also highly suggest having an assistant there to manage the line of people who are waiting for you.

What advice would you give to new students of Hand Analysis?

It is your turn to be visible and valued for the time and money you have invested in learning hand analysis! Being compensated for your work is just an energy exchange for the value you create. So my advice is to remember that making fabulous money is a part of your sacred path. The work you do can truly change a life! Go ahead and get out there and read a lot of hands, you may be the answer for those on the lifelong search for Self!

What intentions do you have for your Hand Analysis practice during the next six months?

I am and exhibitor at a few upcoming conferences in Utah and Texas where I have beautifully blended it with my mentoring business. I am also growing my hand analysis clientele in the UK and Australia and it is exciting to see how the ripple effect is happening and awareness is expanding about the hands. I am so blessed to be a part of this community.

Into the Light ~ Interview with Shannon Montana

Shannon Montana, AAHA CHA
Shannon Montana, AAHA CHA and Life Purpose Consultant

Meet Shannon! She is a Certified Hand Analyst and Life Purpose Consultant, and lives in Gardnerville, Nevada near Lake Tahoe.

When and how did you start reading hands?

During the Holidays at the end of 2007, I was deep in the “big gaping hole” to the point where I found myself in front of my computer at 1:00 am typing into Google search “God please help me” and “What is my Purpose, please help me”. I was afraid to let anyone close for fear that my “neediness” would be felt and I would be rejected.  I also believed that I was probably the only person on the planet who did not have a purpose, that I was somehow “defective” and would never amount to anything, couldn’t stick to anything, was incapable of creating healthy relationships, was constantly overdrawn in my checking account and had no marketable skills…and on…and on…and on…in the “big gaping hole” I traveled.

Interestingly, there were a number of really good things about my life that I recognized in spite of the overwhelming sense of being adrift in the Sea of Purposelessness.  For starters, I was in great shape! Great health had always been effortless and my body was always healthy, strong and I actually really liked and was okay with my physical self. The challenge was that I was addicted to physical activity, and basically lived outdoors mountain biking, hiking, skiing, kayaking, sky diving, rock climbing, backpacking…here I was in my element and was completely empowered.  Take me out of the mountains, however, and I was a wreck trying to function in the day-to-day real world with other people and work and all that.

Then I discovered a coaching and business mentor and I inhaled every single morsel of business and life wisdom she shared. My mentor had a client, Beth and Beth was an educated, well spoken, beautiful, normal young woman in an online business as a ….. Hand Analyst…I was like what?!  A “woo woo” business online and she is making decent money doing this and she looks normal?

I began following Beth, now Baeth Davis…and still it was about 4 years later before I saved enough money to invest in her Level 1 certification and discover my own Life Purpose!  In that 4 years, however, I studied everything I could about Hand Analysis, my money consciousness and creating a practical and spiritual business. I continue to learn so much from her work with the hands and in business.

Next, some of my classmates from Level 1 were taking further training from Kay Packard and investing in her Level 2 and Year Long Level 3 Certification Program!  Here was ANOTHER gorgeous, professional, educated woman making a great living with a spiritual business!  I was so happy and relieved to have these mentors!

One of the things I really love about the Hand Analysis community is the integrity of the people involved that I’ve met!  Each of my Hand Analysis mentors, are very clear about keeping Richard’s teachings they received through IIHA “in tact”, yet each one freely encourages and invites their students to study with others, in order to learn a variety of languaging and methods to deliver this message of the hands.  For me, this honoring of other Hand Analysts carries the spiritual message that we are all in this together and not in competition! I really like that about our community of Hand Analysts.

My work with Kay took me so deep and was the final piece that allowed me to feel the expertise and confidence I needed to “hang my shingle”!  After completing my Level 3 with Kay, I felt I could honestly say I was a Hand Analyst and I was very comfortable with the database of information and my ability to deliver an accurate and relevant reading for my clients.

I continue to study through various forms of mastermind groups, newsletters, one on one mentoring and articles from Kay Packard, Richard Unger, Jena Griffiths, Baeth Davis, Pamelah Landers, Ronelle Coburn and Markus Thorndike.

This work is professional, fun, heartfelt, meaningful, practical, spiritual and relevant to me!  What a combo!  I LOVE being a Hand Analyst and being a member of this loving professional community!

What is most meaningful to you about reading hands?

When I first discovered the info in my own hands, I had never felt so “seen” for who I was.  It was as if I was given permission to be who I AM.  Now, I’m on a mission to be sure that no one need go through their life, as I did, wondering if they have a Purpose!

Has your life lesson ever shown up during a reading?  If so, how and what did you learn from that experience?

Oh boy…has it!  I’ve looked at a pair of hands and it is like I am “blind” and the information in the hands is “hidden”.  My “Ms. Not Enough” starts having a party about how I’m a failure and not really a true Hand Analyst.  I’ve learned to just breathe, and trust that if I am willing to receive guidance, trust my intuition and my training, that the hands will reveal their message and I will be able to give my client exactly what they most need to hear at this time in their life.

How do you apply your life purpose and your life lesson, in other words, how do you see them work together?

As a Successful and Innovative Healer with a message of Inner Peace, my healing message is about offering an empowering message to others to see themselves as the valuable and unique souls that they are. Since learning the message of my own hands, I’ve been able to “release” my own story of low self-worth, limited resources, lack and poverty and move into abundance, love and Purpose!   I am definitely here to teach what I am here to learn most!  Empowerment!  I am really grateful that in discovering my Purpose that I also discovered the healing method of Hand Analysis as the ultimate tool for me to help others! How cool is that?!

What are your fingerprint patterns?

Composite W Arch Arch Loop Loop

Do you have a bad experience you can share to help others avoid a similar situation?

I feel grateful that 99% of the time when I am reading for a client, that the reading feels very relevant, transformational, and is received well.   However, one time recently, I was reading hands at a booth during a Spiritual Expo type of event.  This person was very caught up in their life lesson and penalties and CLEARLY they were not ready to give up their victim identity.  I bought into their stuff by feeling I was somehow failing in relating the information because I really wanted them to grasp that they had choices in their life.  Normally, my clients are ready to receive the value of the reading and we resonate deeply.  This was not the case with this person and I kind of panicked and I allowed my energy to shift from offering a healing message, to trying to “heal” someone in order to feel like I was offering something they found valuable.  Not cool.  Especially because I realize that we are all already whole and it is not my role to try to heal anyone, simply to offer truth of the hands.

The person actually yelled at me that they “weren’t Gifted and I was just making things up and the reason their life sucked was because their Dad never loved them…blah, blah, blah…”  So…I quietly and calmly stopped the reading and told him that I wanted him to find value in the reading and that since that wasn’t the case,  I demanded he take a full refund of the mini-session.  That way I could move on and not ever feel that I had taken money for a reading that someone did not find value in. Luckily that hasn’t happened again! Later, I had a good cry, and I really tried to look at what this person was mirroring for me energetically.  Where was it in my life that I was feeling powerless and afraid?

I would suggest if a client ever claims to not find value in your work that you professionally offer a complete refund so you can move on and not have any “hooks” in your from their victim energy pattern.  Then affirm that you will attract those that will see the tremendous value in what you offer and the exchange will be one of abundance and love. Overall this has worked really well for me and I love my clients and they love me too! We learn from each other, but the process is overall very respectful, loving and kind.  Here is an affirmation that I like to use that I found in an Abraham Hicks book.

I Shannon Montana see and draw to me through divine love, those beings who seek enlightenment through my process. The sharing will elevate us both.

What has been the highlight of your journey with hands, so far?

Feeling I have something of value to offer others.  I can’t tell you how good that feels!   The bond between me and my colleagues in the Hand Analysis community is so rewarding – it feels like MY tribe!  I feel I belong.  Outside of the community, my friendships in general have taken on new depth and meaning and I feel comfortable in my skin on so many levels now.  Wouldn’t trade that feeling for anything!

What advice would you give to new students of Hand Analysis?

Allow yourself to be really bad at it for a while!  Let yourself be a beginner and gradually you will begin to feel more empowered reading others hands.  I was so freaked out at my Level 1 training that I remember during the event everyone was supposed to go out that night and do mini readings for random people you meet in public.  Well that put me into a tailspin and I retreated to my hotel room and ate chocolate and cried while the rest of my roomies were out having the time of their lives.  (of course, I never told anyone because I was so embarrassed and was such a “loser” and obviously was never going to make it as a Hand Analyst).

So what I’m saying is be okay with your time line, because not everyone is going to race out and be able to start reading hands right away.  It took me… like a year …before I got the guts to even do mini readings for close friends!  The thought of charging money freaked me out and obviously I still had a lot of work on my money and business consciousness to do!  Now, it feels so wonderful and comfortable, but not at first!  Be gentle with your process!

What intentions do you have for your Hand Analysis practice during the next six months?

To be very exclusive in my clientele and readings.  I do better at a few very powerful readings rather than trying to do a lot of smaller readings.  A dream is to be invited to read in places like: Maui, Paris, Greece, Bora Bora and Italy and to get to explore those regions with my wonderful clients who become my wonderful friends also!

I am also expanding my marketing and online presence with a better website.  I continue to learn about ways to leverage my work and am developing recordings and printed material for clients.

Into the Light ~ Interview with Linda Salazar

Linda Salazar
Linda Salazar, CHA and Associate Faculty Teacher

By profession, Linda is a Relationship Coach and Scientific Hand Analyst.  She graduated from the AAHA Year Long Certification program and completed the Level 1 & 2 Teacher Training Program in 2012.

When and how did you start reading hands?

I started reading hands two years ago. It all came about immediately after I had a Hand Analysis done during a time in my life when I was feeling quite confused both personally and professionally. Not having a clue what Hand Analysis really entailed I was floored by the depth of which the reader understood me – all of me. That’s all it took for me to know I had to learn this art and I recognized the impact it would have in my coaching practice as well as my personal life.

Are you specializing in any particular area of hand analysis? If so, what is it?

I am specializing in the heart line. Being a relationship coach and having just this one piece of information has allowed me to work with my clients in a whole new way. And bringing in other components of the hands and correlating this information to a client’s emotional style has helped them have beautiful relational transformations not just with the people in their life but with themselves, as well.

What is most meaningful to you about reading hands?

There’s so many things, actually.

   – Seeing clients understand and accept themselves like they’ve never done before.

   – For their life to suddenly make sense to them, even from just one piece of information in the hands being shared with them.

    – Having them feel witnessed and valued is so beautiful!

And, I love how quickly I can get to the Soul of another human being. Being able to experience someone’s authentic self – vulnerabilities and strengths – brings me tremendous joy. I truly believe when we can show our vulnerabilities along with our strengths and honor, love, and support each other from that place, we break down the barriers that keep us separated and the world becomes a better place.

Has your life lesson ever shown up during a reading?  If so, how and what did you learn from that experience?

Ha! When hasn’t it showed up! Actually, it might be more accurate to ask me if it’s ever shown up before or during a reading because more times than not my left Saturn (self-worth/guilt) can grab me just before a reading. Although I have a couple of other lessons this one is the leader of the pack when it’s rude enough to show itself.

During a reading, if a client isn’t relating to something I’m sharing, there can be a moment of, “That’s it! I can’t do this. I’m finished! Time to go mow lawns for a living!” Then I’ll take a deep breath and think, “There she goes again!” (my lesson) and just continue on with the reading remembering it’s not always easy for a client to recognize something in him/herself the first time it’s being revealed. When someone has the same lesson as me, I’ve learned to share myself around the lesson and it helps both of us tremendously.

How do you apply your life purpose and your life lesson, in other words, how do you see them work together?

They go like hand in glove. When I’m in my observing mode it’s like watching a dance between the two of them because they really do feed off of each other. Every time, and I mean every time, I’m stepping more fully into my life purpose, my lesson will come roaring through having me doubt myself, which in turn, can have me crawl back into my hole where my comfortable, oversized stuffed chair is patiently waiting for me to have a seat and hang out. Until, that is, my purpose whispers in my ear again and reminds me about my bigger why for being here. It’s then that I’ll become uncomfortable being in the chair allowing me to crawl out of my hole feeling more confident and ready to go.

I’ve come to understand that every time my lesson shows up I’m onto something that’s giving me an opportunity to grow and honor the reason my Soul chose to come into this lifetime. Therefore, my lesson is also my ally.

What are your fingerprint patterns?

Loop Whorl Loop Whorl Peacock
Loop Whorl Loop Whorl Loop

Do you have a bad experience you can share to help others avoid a similar situation?

I don’t know if I consider this a bad experience as much as it was a frustrating one. I did a reading for a gentleman who just wasn’t able to grasp most of what I was sharing with him. His questions were indicating to me that he really wasn’t listening or able to hear the information. He told me I was wrong about his life purpose and his lessons. There was no doubt what they were because his fingerprints were extremely clear making them very easy to read. It got to a point when I finally asked him how I could serve him best since there was nothing that seemed to be working for him up to that point. He asked me if his hands showed me how he can break through his struggle with making friends because at 52 years old he was quite lonely in his life. And that’s the whole truth and nothing but the truth!

What advice would you give to new students of Hand Analysis?

Go easy on yourself! There’s an enormous amount of information to take in and integrate. There will be moments of feeling overwhelmed – like you’re never going to get this system to the degree that you can give an impactful reading. The truth is, you can and you will. Even telling someone one thing about his or her life that he or she was confused about or not aware of, but makes sense to the person can have a huge impact.

To truly master this Hand Analysis system, look at hands – in person and printed. Practice on friends and family and each time you learn something new look at their hands again and again to see what you can see that you weren’t able to see before.

Be willing to keep delving into what your hands reveal about you as it allows you to grow on all levels and will give you the ability to be a more compassionate and powerful hand analyst.

What intentions do you have for your Hand Analysis practice during the next six months?

To build it more rapidly through public speaking. I want to expose as many people as possible to their heart line/emotional style helping them live from their heart’s authentic expression in all their relationships, especially the one with themselves.

Into the Light ~ Interview with Anne Bunnell

Anne Bunnell
Anne Bunnell, CHA and Associate Faculty

Anne Bunnell is an Associate Faculty of the AAHA. She became a Certified Hand Analyst in 2005 through the International Institute of Hand Analysis (IIHA) with Teacher Alana Unger. Anne lives in Petaluma, California.

When and how did you start reading hands?

I decided to study hand analysis in 2004 after experiencing some unexplainable anger issues that had arisen in my life that I couldn’t find the cause of.  After doing some deep work with Alana Unger, it became very clear that it was my Life Purpose screaming for expression that was the source of my angst and anger.  Hand Analysis was my instrument of choice to “get the music out”.

Are you specializing in any particular area of hand analysis? If so, what is it?

Gift markings and heart lines fascinate me.  I find great fun and joy in sharing this information with my client and hearing their stories of how they experience these lines and markings in their own hands.

What is most meaningful to you about reading hands?

I love the sacred trust that happens when someone opens their hands to be read, trusting that they are safe and there is no judgment.  I also am grateful for the opportunity to validate and celebrate who they are with no judgment.

Has your life lesson ever shown up during a reading?  If so, how and what did you learn from that experience?

My Life lesson pays me a visit before every reading, without fail.  It shows up as the left Saturn voice in my head (“surely I don’t know enough yet”).  I have learned to quickly recognize it for what it is and just jump into the reading whole-heartedly anyway, allowing it to unfold.

What really cracks me up is that sometimes, if I have the same life lesson as my client, I struggle to explain about that particular part of their life lesson and sometimes I have even drawn a blank.  So I usually just laugh, fess up, move on and circle back around to it.

How do you apply your life purpose and your life lesson, in other words, how do you see them work together?

The awareness of my life lesson (blind spot) and understanding how it shows up in my life has helped me to more quickly recognize my internal resistance for what it truly is.  I can usually challenge and move through the fear and judgment by going ahead anyway, just taking small steps forward, one at a time.  I have learned that if and when I choose to consciously challenge the belief around my life lesson, some pretty terrific things unfold.

Do you have a bad experience you can share to help others avoid a similar situation?

When I was a student in the IIHA year long program, I did a reading with a woman who was very guarded and had extremely dry hands.  I was having trouble seeing her fingerprints so she applied some lotion that she had to see if that would help.  It did make it easier to see her prints but the lotion was so fragrant that it made me sick to my stomach.  Then, when it came to sharing the information about her life lesson (left Jupiter), she immediately rejected what I had to say and refused to even consider the possibility that this could be her blind spot.  Needless to say I was a bit unnerved and one of us abruptly ended the reading right then and there.  (Actually I think it was my left Saturn life lesson that ended the reading).  Anyway, I learned a few things from that experience:

  1. I was still VERY new at reading hands and took her response as if I had said something wrong (my LL).   The more vocabulary you can gather and use to explain about LP and LL the better.  Ask other hand analysts what words and ideas they use in their readings.
  2. I always carry UNSCENTED lotion in my supplies, just in case.

What advice would you give to new students of Hand Analysis?

My advice to budding Hand Analysts:

  1. Be easy on yourself.  You know more than you think you do.
  2. When you feel overwhelmed…breathe.
  3. Keep an open mind and heart so that you can see what you are learning from the reading as well as your client.
  4. Work on not being attached to the outcome of a reading, you are simply the messenger.
  5. Learn what you can from other Hand Analysts, there is an unending wealth of knowledge in this very supportive community, but please try really hard NOT to compare yourself to other readers.  You will develop your own unique style that brings your gifts and talents to this amazing practice.
  6. Trust the process, there is always a bigger picture at play.

What intentions do you have for your Hand Analysis practice during the next six months?

Separating my practice into the different layers, my intentions for the next six months are to continue with my individual hand readings, develop a new website on squarespace.com (which is very user friendly so I am attempting it myself) and continue to participate in the wonderful classes offered through the AAHA and Earth School.
