The Neptune Star Indicates the Potential for Profound Awareness through Unfathomable Emotion

Your short lesson today is about a marking that can appear in the hand called a Neptune Star.

The Neptune Star is a six-pointed star that looks like an asterisk in the bottom middle area of the palm on the Neptune Mount.

The configuration of this star will not include the Life or Fate Line. This marking can usually be seen with the naked eye and sometimes on the inked handprint if the lowest section of the palm is captured on the print. Look carefully for this glyph because it does like to hide. On rare occasion more than one star can be found in this location. In such case, the following description intensifies and needs to become even more of a centerpiece in one’s life.

At his or her best, the owner of a Neptune Star comes to profound understanding and awareness through unfathomable waves of intense emotion.

Neptune is the mythological god of water and the sea. Think about the sea and what happens there? The deepest chasm of the ocean has its own rhythm and experiences unpredictable storm systems. The ocean itself sways between the extremes of majestic stillness and unforgiving squalls. Emotions are ruled by the element of water hence the relationship with tranquility and tumult.

The owner of this star can be utterly baffled on the path to understanding the ‘gift’ in this marking. He or she may be riddled with tears and have no words why. When people close by ask “why are you crying?” s/he is unable to articulate the ‘reason’ because even s/he does not have a reason why. The ‘happy’ tears can come just as easily as the ‘sad’ tears. This depth of sea employs no rationality.

Astrologer Paul Grell said, “Neptune reaches both the most sublime heights and the lowest depths.” When the awareness of this keen and profound understanding is grasped just enough, the owner can begin exploring her own deep and heavy feelings. These feelings are most likely difficult, unpredictable, scary, and dark and whatever else happens in the deep, deep oceans.

Grief Counselors help people through nearly unbearable transitions. Hospice Workers guide and prepare listeners through the death experience to new realms of life. Owning this marking and the accompanying traits will enhance the ability, approach and success of these counselor types. Psychic Medium, John Edwards of Crossing Over may have this marking of profound awareness along with the ability to translate that understanding to individuals who are in deep pain, ache and tenderness due to loss.

If you see this marking in someone’s hand just ‘sit’ with him or who who may be out of touch with what he or she doesn’t know he or she’s out of touch with. Sitting with the owner means being quiet, still, and holding space for the deep seas to stir in accord to his or her own restlessness – within. Be prepared to gently offer a tissue with eyes of support and compassion. There is no need to ask any questions, formulate any assessments or move to the next marking in the hand.

If you own this marking its completely natural to feel stuck in overwhelm and confusion around the intense emotional waves that run through the core of your being. It can feel like you’re drowning. At times you may feel introverted, vague, fearful, delusional and/or uncontrollable rage. This is completely normal on your learning journey to deep awareness. As you observe the confusion around your emotions know that you are now on the path with great compassion for advancement to a place of higher wisdom beyond reason. You can cultivate Divine inspiration from being impressionable to the myriad of emotions surrounding you. Consider positioning yourself to assist others with your unique gift. These fields may include Grief Counselors, Poets, Actors, AA/NA Sponsors, Funeral Directors and Hospice Workers.

Bottom Line Thinking with Persona

Your short lesson today involves two markings in the hands. One is the Line of Persona (in turquoise) and the second is the Bottom Line Thinking Head Line (in green). The Line of Persona stands alone and starts at the top of the palm between the pointer and middle fingers. The Bottom Line Thinking Head Line can be any length but the end has a gentle flip upward where I’ve drawn the arrow.

The Line of Persona tells me the owner has the ability to say something polite at the right time like a nurse at your bedside when you’re sick. The owner can even go out of his or her way to make someone feel comfortable when it’s unnecessary. For example helping the dentist to feel comfortable before performing a root canal. The owner of the Line of Persona is able to take on a role, such as an actor, to accommodate what he or she perceives another person needs to hear to feel emotionally comfortable.

Owners of the Bottom Line Thinking Head Line get frustrated with details because they want information to be necessary, condensed and to the point. If you work with or for the owner of a Bottom Line Thinking Head Line here’s a tip: Be brief, be bright and be gone!

If this line is etched into either of your palms and you’re listening to someone speak you will be silently asking yourself, “Is this important? Or is this not important?” Your first instinct is to get to the bottom line, to the meat of the matter and you want others to do the same, too.

Because you are wired this way you may not understand that the rest of the world doesn’t process information the same way. One owner of this line recently told me, “What I call bottom line is getting to the core truth. If you understand that [core truth] you understand everything. I’m watching for every fact or piece of the story to plug in some place.” Another owner of the Bottom Line Thinking mind explained to me that she gets annoyed with herself when she gets hung up on a thought (like trying to remember someone’s name) because she feels like it’s taking too long to get to the point.

Here is the good news for the owner of Bottom Line Thinking intermingled with the Line of Persona. Often times people feel like they’re being ‘cut off’ by the Bottom Line Thinker but this tendency will be softened and potentially masked by the good bed side manner of the Persona Line.

In the good-hair-day-mode the owner of these two markings is gently able to say, “I want to hear what you have to say but please headline the summary first.”

In the bad-hair-day-mode the owner can

  1. A) Struggle, feeling ruthless and cold
  2. B) Become completely masked and placate people around, diminishing his/her lightning quick mind.
  3. C) Feel utterly frustrated in the waffling effect with the Line of Persona AND the interior pressure to get to the bottom line.

To a person with this combination I would recommend living and/or working in an environment where his/her natural aptitudes and talents can excel such as in a hospital emergency room or a court room as an attorney. Or in a service industry as a contractor assisting a confused widow remodeling her home or a Business Coach helping a client move swiftly through obstacles and effectively reach new heights.

With a mate this will most likely be exceptionally challenging. The cure: communication. If you own this intriguing combination of markings, to your mate you might say, “I truly care about what you’re saying. You might sense me cutting you off at times. I don’t mean to hurt your feelings. I’m just trying to determine what is truly important in what you want me to understand. My mind is wired to ‘get to the point.’ I now realize you may want to provide more details and have further conversation. Please be patient with me because I’m wired differently than you. Okay?”

Tip for someone who lives with a Bottom Line Thinker: Don’t take a curt response to your conversation personally. Appreciate your mate for getting to the truth without fluff and run-around jargon.

Developing Lines in Beth’s Hands

Project Snowflake was officially kicked off Jan. 31, 2010. I’m 8 years into the research, printing selected children’s hands to observe changes, life lessons and how each one grows into his or her life purpose.

Before the project began, Beth’s hands were printed for the first time in early 2004 when she was 7. She is now 22.

These side-by-side prints below show a noticeable change in Beth’s prints since last year. Vertical lines are developing under the pinkie finger on the mound of Mercury inside the blue circle.

Comparing 2017 and 2018 Handprints.

In traditional palmistry this formation of vertical lines is called the Medical Stigmata. Famous palmists found this marking on people in the healing arts such as doctors, nurses and veterinarians.

In Richard Unger’s system, which I teach, this configuration is called the Gifted Healer. It indicates someone having exceptional ability to listen and hear what’s truly going on inside another individual from a psychological perspective. The key is for the owner of the marking to trust the insights they are receiving instead of doubting or dismissing their inner knowing.

I’ve seen this marking on photographers, speakers, accountants and many others who are not in a professional healing practice. These owners display an innate ability to hold powerful space for acceptance of what is causing inner upset and conflict.

How Napoleon Hill’s Success Formula Corresponds to the Human Hand

“The starting point of all achievement is desire. The finishing point is that brand of knowledge which leads to understanding of self, understanding of others, understanding of the laws of nature, recognition and understanding of happiness.” – Napoleon Hill in Think and Grow Rich.

Over the last two months I’ve been listening to a series of audio books by Napoleon Hill who spent 20 years of his life studying very successful people in order to write a simple formula for success.

There are 15 lessons to the law of success according to Hill, as well as other crucial elements that he taught. I have deeply pondered the required ingredients for success and how they directly coincide to particular areas in the hand. To that end, I created Your Map to Success is in Your Hands (below).

These characteristics of success correlate to the location on the hand where you see them listed in the map above and in the table below. As a Hand Analyst I look to these areas when assessing the hand to help a person achieve higher levels of success based on the individual’s desire and special talents stamped into his or her hands.

A consolidated version of Hill’s lessons can be found on Wikipedia. Here they are by title associated to specific areas of the hand:

Hill’s other key characteristics for success:

Hill states, “Knowledge is only potential power. It becomes power (useful) only when, and if, it is organized into definite plans of action and directed to a definite end.”

Each of these areas in the hands related to the success variables can be strong or weak.

For example, a strong well-developed Venus Zone indicates charm, warmth and desire to connect with others through a pleasing personality. If the Venus Zone is weak the owner might be over working, over indulging or have an ice-cold personality. To be successful we must become conscious of our shortcomings and get guidance for strengthening those particular areas.

Did you know the word education is derived from the Latin word “educo,” meaning to educe, to draw out, to develop from within?

Your hands offer an extremely reliable map to develop from within. You can learn so much about yourself by understanding what’s in your own two hands!

While it’s true, as Napoleon Hill said, “Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve,” I’ve seen how extremely difficult it is for people to ‘conceive’ with massive mental obstacles blocking their path to success. These obstacles are clearly marked in the hands. They are sure signs calling for attention saying, pay attention to ‘this’. Get tools for resolution. You can do it!

To discover how success is mapped in your hands have your hands read by a professional, non-predictive scientific hand analyst. Fear of Being Seen

The fear of being seen can be paralyzing for many adults, teens and even children. This obstacle prevents us from showing up and shining as our most unique self at work, in our business, with family and in relationships. There are a number of markings in the hands that indicate a fear of being seen, potentially criticized and possibly rejected but today we’ll look at one commonly found in the hands.

In a previous article I wrote How to Identify Stress Indicators in the Hands I discussed various Attack Lines at a high level.

Let’s look more closely at a particular Attack Line in the hand, learn more about it and answer powerful questions to call in some courage to come out of hiding.

Fear of Being Seen

When the line starts on the Mars Mount (orange circle) just under the start of the Life Line and diagonally crosses the palm and ends under the Ring finger (red arrow) the owner is likely to prefer hiding out to avoid the possibility of receiving some sort of negative response.

To my students I teach that this challenge marking is actually a call to feel the fear and do it anyway. Yes, that is easier said than done because the owner is invisibly defending against the arising attack of the tomatoes!

The silent assault is an inside job. With a deep desire to fit in, the mind creates a powerful story about rejection. This line suggests denial to feeling approved of and struggle with the sense of ‘belonging’. Stress is evident. So how can that tension be harnessed and applied in a positive direction?

This is really about getting comfortable with the uncomfortable. This fear is not in the way, it is the way for your authentic creative expression to stream through you. This is an opportunity indicator to learn how to stand in your courage, wearing your favorite super hero outfit and move through the anxiety.

Imagine an upcoming scenario where you feel a little (or a lot) of fear about being seen when you’d really like to feel approved of. Perhaps giving a presentation at work, speaking at a memorial service, asking someone out on a date, striking up a conversation at a party, displaying a piece of art on stage, or….

Now answer these questions (on paper with pen creates greater impact and more immediate results):

  1. What new belief would positively support you in accepting yourself as you are and expressing your unique self in this scenario?
  2. What would have to be true for you to allow your authentic self to be seen?
  3. If you had no fear at all who would you be?
  4. If you were to become still and listen to the truth, what would you hear?

Mantra: I accept myself as I am.

Head Line – Only Solutions

If the Head Line starts with an arc coming down from the index finger, its owner is motivated to formulate action plans based on high ideals, visions, and dreams. The line acts like an antenna, downloading inspiration and plans to the leader within. The owner of such a Head Line is capable of brilliant influence through a continual flow of ideas for the betterment of the territory in which she resides (or reigns). She is inclined to fuel other people’s ideas and plans, in the form of solutions. Vigorously, her inner voice repeats, “There are no problems; only solutions.”

Solutions Only
Highly Motivated Mind

To attain the maximum levels of fulfillment and the sense of contribution, the owner of this line must be positioned in life to solve problems. For example a 10 year-old child must be enrolled in higher level learning programs to keep her motivated mind fully stimulated and involved in calculations and computations toward results. An adult with this design must be employed and engaged in challenging work where she is paid for the keys she holds to unlock doors for colossal results.

If this talent is not energetically applied the owner will feel empty and unfulfilled.

Motivated Mind Positive: I inspire and offer astounding solutions with a high level of confidence.

Motivated Mind Negative: I lack emotional sensitivity when I’m in my solutions-only brain.

Mantra: I offer my brilliant solutions with discernment and implement them with consideration.

Self-Reliant Head Line

Do you have the Self-Reliant Head Line? If the start of the Head Line is separated from the beginning of the Life Line, the owner’s thought system will be independent of his or her family of origin, acting autonomously.

If you have this marking of self-reliance, you prefer to figure things out on your own. For example, if you must decide whether to get married or divorced, go to college or quit college, start a job or change vocations, you rely on the resources of your own choosing, which may not include family input.

The handprint above belongs to one of the children in Project Snowflake. I initiated a formal project in early 2010 to observe the changes in the handprints of twelve children starting at ages between five days to eight years old. At the time of this printing she was fifteen years of age. As a youngster, her mental system did not match those of her parents as closely as one might think, even though they lived in a loving and supportive country home environment. She showed signs of operating on her own terms as early as age three. I first printed her hands when she was eight years old; she is now twenty-one. All of her handprints, spanning thirteen years, clearly show her tendency toward independence, freedom, and autonomy. She did her own thing on the soccer field in the sixth grade, not paying much attention to the position to which she had been assigned. At age fourteen, she snuck out of her bedroom in the middle of the night to meet her friends in the schoolyard. At eighteen, she has moved out of her home to work and attend college.

Keep in mind, no one marking tells a complete picture about someone’s character. Blending other eye-catching designs in the hands points to the theme of the owner’s life-story. As an example, combine this self-reliant Head Line with a Hermit Heart Line and the owner’s requirements for freedom and autonomy increase twofold. The Hermit Heart Line indicates necessity for sanctuary time, loyalty and productivity. The handprint above has a Hermit Heart Line, too.

Self-Reliant Positive: I have a large capacity to get the job done, especially when unsupervised.

Self-Reliant Negative: I don’t see the need for help very often, and this can make it challenging to team up with others toward a common goal.

Mantra: I relish in my independent mind, but I am open to receiving support from the team once in a while.

The Super Synthesizer Head Line

When the Head Line is clear, extends with consistent thickness straight across the hand, as if it were drawn in with a pen, and terminates about one-quarter to one-half inch before the edge of the palm, you’ll find a Super Synthesizer. This person won’t feel fulfilled unless she has an avenue in which to use her multifaceted system of comprehension and analysis. The quote by Greek philosopher Epicurus applies here, “The greater the difficulty, the more glory in surmounting it.”

Think of this very long Head Line acting like an eight-armed octopus that must be in full synthesis mode in order to feel a deep sense of satisfaction. Each of the eight arms is equipped with numerous sense-gathering suction cups, too.

The Octopus Brain must have problems to solve
The Synthesizer Head Line (AKA Octopus Brain)

Richard Unger calls such a long, clear Head Line HAL 9000, after the supercomputer in the science fiction story 2001: A Space Odyssey. I relay Unger’s description to my clients and watch their eyes open wide. In unison their body language matches their voice, saying, “Oh yes, that’s me.”

The following is the description I give to my long Head Lined clients and students. In 2001: A Space Odyssey, HAL is the central processing unit that controls everything on an entire Pan Am spaceship on a secret mission from Earth to Jupiter. HAL was the brain and nervous system of the ship and reported all problems to mission control.

HAL was constantly occupied, and said, ”I find things difficult to put out of my mind.” This is the gift and the curse of the octopus brain. On a good day, he put things together in an orderly fashion. On a bad day, he gets into a tangle.

In the end, having a bad day, HAL went haywire. He no longer had big enough problems to solve, so he over-analyzed little problems. The same can be said for someone with a HAL 9000 Head Line when not engaged in big challenging problems—the more complicated, the better. Assembling scraps of fabric for an elaborate quilt or reorganizing an entire corporation may suit Mr. or Ms. HAL, depending on other features in the hands. The Super Synthesizer Head Line has definite mental requirements—large, important projects with massive amounts of data.

Children with long Head Lines need enough intellectual challenge from school and home projects to keep them busy, otherwise they may very well create problems with siblings, friends, or schoolmates.

Once a father brought his eight-year-old daughter to me for a reading. She had a very long and clear Head Line. After I described her talent as a “super-duper computer,” she told me that she was very good at math and loved it. Unfortunately, she was teased by some of her classmates for having an advanced aptitude in mathematics. I encouraged her to maintain true friendships with those who would value her mental gifts.

If you are the owner of a Super Synthesizing Head Line, a sure sign that you’re not using your full potential is relationship problems. By initiating problems in relationships with others, you give yourself juicy problems to wrestle with. This makes HAL very happy, in a computer kind of way.

Super Synthesizer Positive: I use my exceptional mental aptitude to fully engage in colossal complexity, synthesizing large amounts of information.

Super Synthesizer Negative: Without enough data to manipulate, I instigate big problems to solve, usually in relationships.

Mantra: I exercise my ability to engage in the complex synthesis of thoughts without creating tangled webs within my closest relationships.

The Advocate Head Line

The Advocate Head Line originates inside and below the initiation of the Life Line, just above the inset of the thumb (see figure below). This is considered the Mars Mount. If you have this configuration you’re watchful and mentally alert. You can be headstrong about seeing both sides of the same coin. You’re a determined debater, but you can seem argumentative to someone not interested in debate.

The owner of the Advocate Head Line typically guards his or her thoughts, keeping them ready, in a sense, to defend his or her cause. He or she can be seen as prudish when his or her thoughts and resulting words contradict others. It might seem that this person is narrow-minded, but in actuality he or she thrives when seeing differently. Such a person makes an excellent social or political activist, waging war for the underdog.

One child I read for who had this marking kept answering my questions with other questions. It was hard to get anywhere with his quarrelsome character. You see, the Head Line, which represents the mental system, is dipping into the Mars Mount. Mars is a protector, capable of combat for his or her cause. The mental processor (Head Line) is fed by the courage and bravery of Mars, the warrior.

Extra warrior energy is available for use in the life of the owner when the Mars Mount is extra eye-catching to the naked eye or on a handprint.  Additionally, if the shape of the hand (palm and fingers) is rectangular and looks like it could fit into a ‘shoebox’ (see illustration below) the owner must regularly communicate about his or her cause to feel a sense of fulfillment.

Air Hand Shape

The late legendary UCLA basketball coach John Wooden did not want “yes-men” around him. He encouraged his assistant coaches to argue their points of view with him. He, in turn, responded strongly with his own opinions. Gary Cunningham, one of his head coaches said, “This was Coach Wooden’s way of testing how much the assistant coaches believed in what they were telling him and how much they knew about the points they were advocating.” But Coach Wooden also knew that it is difficult to effect positive change when you antagonize others. “The purpose of criticism is to correct, improve, and change; rarely to humiliate or embarrass,” he said. I didn’t see Coach Wooden’s hands, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he had the Advocate Head Line configuration. He was also a high-profile crusader helping people to be their personal best.

Advocate Key Words: Watchfulness, courageous, debating, stands-up-for, prudence, argumentativeness

The Advocate Positive: I am steadfast in considering contrary viewpoints and contribute many perspectives to uphold the conversation.

The Advocate Negative: If no one else can ever win, and I’m seen as an antagonist, I can become a loner by exclusion.

Mantra: For the cause, I use my skills of assertive thinking in tactful, savvy ways.

Bottom Line Thinking

Do you get impatient with people dragging out a story where the point could be summed up in about 3 seconds or less?

When a Head Line travels across the palm on a steady course, then flips upward at the end, its owner may have an uncontrollable urge to get to the bottom line and speak his or her truth. It’s as if the pinkie finger is invisibly pulling the end of the Head Line upward.

Bottom Line Mind

This long Head Line indicates a super processor with the ability to dart to the bottom line at lightning speed. This person is aware of what is really going on behind the scenes.  She can condense a two-hour movie into two sentences. The author of the CliffsNotes who summarized the literary work of War and Peace probably had the Bottom Line Mind Head Line configuration.

One owner of this line configuration told me, “It can be very painful to listen to someone drag out a story or an explanation when I already know where it’s going. I’ve learned how crucial it is to be patient and to bite my tongue so that others can finish speaking.”

It’s important for the person with this marking to find an approving audience for his agile, extra-aware, no-nonsense mind, otherwise he may be considered ruthless. When someone is wired for getting to the bottom line and telling it like it is spontaneously, he can appear quite insensitive. Friends and family may not have praised his urge to “get to the point” or his skill in doing so. The best remedy is for such a person is to have an outlet in which he can be fully engaged in truth-telling, while being in an arena where he is accepted and acknowledged for that skill.

Key Words: Alertness, shrewdness, astuteness, callousness

Bottom Line Mind Positive: Count on me for the truth without fluff.

Bottom Line Mind Negative: Without being tactful, my sharp, bottom line mind can alienate friends and family or, worse, I’ll stuff it all in self-condemnation.

Mantra: With grace and diplomacy I use my laser-sharp mind effectively in a setting where I am received.
