Head Line – Only Solutions

If the Head Line starts with an arc coming down from the index finger, its owner is motivated to formulate action plans based on high ideals, visions, and dreams. The line acts like an antenna, downloading inspiration and plans to the leader within. The owner of such a Head Line is capable of brilliant influence through a continual flow of ideas for the betterment of the territory in which she resides (or reigns). She is inclined to fuel other people’s ideas and plans, in the form of solutions. Vigorously, her inner voice repeats, “There are no problems; only solutions.”

Solutions Only
Highly Motivated Mind

To attain the maximum levels of fulfillment and the sense of contribution, the owner of this line must be positioned in life to solve problems. For example a 10 year-old child must be enrolled in higher level learning programs to keep her motivated mind fully stimulated and involved in calculations and computations toward results. An adult with this design must be employed and engaged in challenging work where she is paid for the keys she holds to unlock doors for colossal results.

If this talent is not energetically applied the owner will feel empty and unfulfilled.

Motivated Mind Positive: I inspire and offer astounding solutions with a high level of confidence.

Motivated Mind Negative: I lack emotional sensitivity when I’m in my solutions-only brain.

Mantra: I offer my brilliant solutions with discernment and implement them with consideration.

Self-Reliant Head Line

Do you have the Self-Reliant Head Line? If the start of the Head Line is separated from the beginning of the Life Line, the owner’s thought system will be independent of his or her family of origin, acting autonomously.

If you have this marking of self-reliance, you prefer to figure things out on your own. For example, if you must decide whether to get married or divorced, go to college or quit college, start a job or change vocations, you rely on the resources of your own choosing, which may not include family input.

The handprint above belongs to one of the children in Project Snowflake. I initiated a formal project in early 2010 to observe the changes in the handprints of twelve children starting at ages between five days to eight years old. At the time of this printing she was fifteen years of age. As a youngster, her mental system did not match those of her parents as closely as one might think, even though they lived in a loving and supportive country home environment. She showed signs of operating on her own terms as early as age three. I first printed her hands when she was eight years old; she is now twenty-one. All of her handprints, spanning thirteen years, clearly show her tendency toward independence, freedom, and autonomy. She did her own thing on the soccer field in the sixth grade, not paying much attention to the position to which she had been assigned. At age fourteen, she snuck out of her bedroom in the middle of the night to meet her friends in the schoolyard. At eighteen, she has moved out of her home to work and attend college.

Keep in mind, no one marking tells a complete picture about someone’s character. Blending other eye-catching designs in the hands points to the theme of the owner’s life-story. As an example, combine this self-reliant Head Line with a Hermit Heart Line and the owner’s requirements for freedom and autonomy increase twofold. The Hermit Heart Line indicates necessity for sanctuary time, loyalty and productivity. The handprint above has a Hermit Heart Line, too.

Self-Reliant Positive: I have a large capacity to get the job done, especially when unsupervised.

Self-Reliant Negative: I don’t see the need for help very often, and this can make it challenging to team up with others toward a common goal.

Mantra: I relish in my independent mind, but I am open to receiving support from the team once in a while.

The Super Synthesizer Head Line

When the Head Line is clear, extends with consistent thickness straight across the hand, as if it were drawn in with a pen, and terminates about one-quarter to one-half inch before the edge of the palm, you’ll find a Super Synthesizer. This person won’t feel fulfilled unless she has an avenue in which to use her multifaceted system of comprehension and analysis. The quote by Greek philosopher Epicurus applies here, “The greater the difficulty, the more glory in surmounting it.”

Think of this very long Head Line acting like an eight-armed octopus that must be in full synthesis mode in order to feel a deep sense of satisfaction. Each of the eight arms is equipped with numerous sense-gathering suction cups, too.

The Octopus Brain must have problems to solve
The Synthesizer Head Line (AKA Octopus Brain)

Richard Unger calls such a long, clear Head Line HAL 9000, after the supercomputer in the science fiction story 2001: A Space Odyssey. I relay Unger’s description to my clients and watch their eyes open wide. In unison their body language matches their voice, saying, “Oh yes, that’s me.”

The following is the description I give to my long Head Lined clients and students. In 2001: A Space Odyssey, HAL is the central processing unit that controls everything on an entire Pan Am spaceship on a secret mission from Earth to Jupiter. HAL was the brain and nervous system of the ship and reported all problems to mission control.

HAL was constantly occupied, and said, ”I find things difficult to put out of my mind.” This is the gift and the curse of the octopus brain. On a good day, he put things together in an orderly fashion. On a bad day, he gets into a tangle.

In the end, having a bad day, HAL went haywire. He no longer had big enough problems to solve, so he over-analyzed little problems. The same can be said for someone with a HAL 9000 Head Line when not engaged in big challenging problems—the more complicated, the better. Assembling scraps of fabric for an elaborate quilt or reorganizing an entire corporation may suit Mr. or Ms. HAL, depending on other features in the hands. The Super Synthesizer Head Line has definite mental requirements—large, important projects with massive amounts of data.

Children with long Head Lines need enough intellectual challenge from school and home projects to keep them busy, otherwise they may very well create problems with siblings, friends, or schoolmates.

Once a father brought his eight-year-old daughter to me for a reading. She had a very long and clear Head Line. After I described her talent as a “super-duper computer,” she told me that she was very good at math and loved it. Unfortunately, she was teased by some of her classmates for having an advanced aptitude in mathematics. I encouraged her to maintain true friendships with those who would value her mental gifts.

If you are the owner of a Super Synthesizing Head Line, a sure sign that you’re not using your full potential is relationship problems. By initiating problems in relationships with others, you give yourself juicy problems to wrestle with. This makes HAL very happy, in a computer kind of way.

Super Synthesizer Positive: I use my exceptional mental aptitude to fully engage in colossal complexity, synthesizing large amounts of information.

Super Synthesizer Negative: Without enough data to manipulate, I instigate big problems to solve, usually in relationships.

Mantra: I exercise my ability to engage in the complex synthesis of thoughts without creating tangled webs within my closest relationships.

The Advocate Head Line

The Advocate Head Line originates inside and below the initiation of the Life Line, just above the inset of the thumb (see figure below). This is considered the Mars Mount. If you have this configuration you’re watchful and mentally alert. You can be headstrong about seeing both sides of the same coin. You’re a determined debater, but you can seem argumentative to someone not interested in debate.

The owner of the Advocate Head Line typically guards his or her thoughts, keeping them ready, in a sense, to defend his or her cause. He or she can be seen as prudish when his or her thoughts and resulting words contradict others. It might seem that this person is narrow-minded, but in actuality he or she thrives when seeing differently. Such a person makes an excellent social or political activist, waging war for the underdog.

One child I read for who had this marking kept answering my questions with other questions. It was hard to get anywhere with his quarrelsome character. You see, the Head Line, which represents the mental system, is dipping into the Mars Mount. Mars is a protector, capable of combat for his or her cause. The mental processor (Head Line) is fed by the courage and bravery of Mars, the warrior.

Extra warrior energy is available for use in the life of the owner when the Mars Mount is extra eye-catching to the naked eye or on a handprint.  Additionally, if the shape of the hand (palm and fingers) is rectangular and looks like it could fit into a ‘shoebox’ (see illustration below) the owner must regularly communicate about his or her cause to feel a sense of fulfillment.

Air Hand Shape

The late legendary UCLA basketball coach John Wooden did not want “yes-men” around him. He encouraged his assistant coaches to argue their points of view with him. He, in turn, responded strongly with his own opinions. Gary Cunningham, one of his head coaches said, “This was Coach Wooden’s way of testing how much the assistant coaches believed in what they were telling him and how much they knew about the points they were advocating.” But Coach Wooden also knew that it is difficult to effect positive change when you antagonize others. “The purpose of criticism is to correct, improve, and change; rarely to humiliate or embarrass,” he said. I didn’t see Coach Wooden’s hands, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he had the Advocate Head Line configuration. He was also a high-profile crusader helping people to be their personal best.

Advocate Key Words: Watchfulness, courageous, debating, stands-up-for, prudence, argumentativeness

The Advocate Positive: I am steadfast in considering contrary viewpoints and contribute many perspectives to uphold the conversation.

The Advocate Negative: If no one else can ever win, and I’m seen as an antagonist, I can become a loner by exclusion.

Mantra: For the cause, I use my skills of assertive thinking in tactful, savvy ways.

Bottom Line Thinking

Do you get impatient with people dragging out a story where the point could be summed up in about 3 seconds or less?

When a Head Line travels across the palm on a steady course, then flips upward at the end, its owner may have an uncontrollable urge to get to the bottom line and speak his or her truth. It’s as if the pinkie finger is invisibly pulling the end of the Head Line upward.

Bottom Line Mind

This long Head Line indicates a super processor with the ability to dart to the bottom line at lightning speed. This person is aware of what is really going on behind the scenes.  She can condense a two-hour movie into two sentences. The author of the CliffsNotes who summarized the literary work of War and Peace probably had the Bottom Line Mind Head Line configuration.

One owner of this line configuration told me, “It can be very painful to listen to someone drag out a story or an explanation when I already know where it’s going. I’ve learned how crucial it is to be patient and to bite my tongue so that others can finish speaking.”

It’s important for the person with this marking to find an approving audience for his agile, extra-aware, no-nonsense mind, otherwise he may be considered ruthless. When someone is wired for getting to the bottom line and telling it like it is spontaneously, he can appear quite insensitive. Friends and family may not have praised his urge to “get to the point” or his skill in doing so. The best remedy is for such a person is to have an outlet in which he can be fully engaged in truth-telling, while being in an arena where he is accepted and acknowledged for that skill.

Key Words: Alertness, shrewdness, astuteness, callousness

Bottom Line Mind Positive: Count on me for the truth without fluff.

Bottom Line Mind Negative: Without being tactful, my sharp, bottom line mind can alienate friends and family or, worse, I’ll stuff it all in self-condemnation.

Mantra: With grace and diplomacy I use my laser-sharp mind effectively in a setting where I am received.

Messenger Markings in the Hands

Do You Have Messenger Markers Mapped Into Your Hands?

A Messenger is someone who carries a message with specific content. He or she is an interpreter of ideas for willing receivers. A messenger acts as an open conduit that funnels condensed communications to an audience.

There are a number of markers that can be imprinted on the hands and fingers to signify someone being a Messenger.

Basic Messenger markings include (but are not limited to):

  • Highest ranking fingerprint (such as a whorl) on right Pinkie = worldly messenger
  • Highest ranking fingerprint (such as a whorl) on left Pinkie = insightful messenger
  • Vertical lines on upper Pinkie segment = messenger to simplify complex concepts
  • Long and straight Pinkie finger and full Moon Mound = story teller

The next step is to narrow in on what sort of message the owner is wired to convey. To hone in on the type of communication someone is designed to circulate I combine any one of the examples above with any of these additional variables below:

+ Mars Star = messenger for the unprotected

+ Long and straight Middle and Pinkie fingers = messenger for science

+ Long and straight Middle and Index fingers = messenger in business and leadership

+ Line of Intuition = messenger of insight

(Note: This is a short list of variables to blend with the basic messenger markings.)

Are you an assigned spiritual messenger? Do you have any of the basic messenger markings listed above and any of these on the checklist below?

Spiritual Messenger Checklist

  • Line of Intuition
  • Gifted Healer
  • Whorl in the Moon
  • Star in the Moon
  • Star in Neptune
  • Persephone Head Line
  • 3 Rings of Solomon
  • 3 or more Vertical lines on the Jupiter Mound
  • Strong Mercury + Protruding Moon along with one or more of the above
  • Universal Wisdom Head Line

If any of the above variables are inscribed into your hands then you have an indisputable indicator pointing you forward on a special assignment to connect with Higher Wisdom and to listen, receive and give. You may elect to give through speaking, signing, singing, rapping or writing. Craftsmen (and women), photographers, painters, and dog trainers offer mighty messages, as do school teachers, yoga instructors, web designers and accountants.

The “spiritual” element is about tuning into your Divine Nature, Essential Self, Inner Knowing, Spiritual Heart, our Creator, or That Which Knows. Don’t let the label get in the way of the intention. Rise strong in transmitting The Mighty Message – here and now.

For the record, anyone can be a spiritual messenger. You don’t have to be marked with any of the above symbols to receive and give meaningful messages for living a better life. A simple willingness to hear the courier call from your core will be enough to get you started.

This morning I read the following in A Course in Miracles, Lesson 154 paragraph 5:

“A messenger [of God] does not elect to write the message he delivers. Nor does he question the right of him who does, nor ask why he has chosen those who will receive the message that he brings. It is enough that he accept it, bring it to the ones for which it is appointed, and fulfill his role in its delivery. If he insists on judging what the messages should be or what their purpose is or where they should be carried, he is failing to perform his proper part as bringer of the Word.”

The lesson goes further to ask, “Would you receive the messages of God?”

As you answer with a wholehearted, “Yes” you immediately become a Mighty Messenger for God.

Regardless of the type of messenger your are or wish to be the key is to GIVE the message away. In the giving the message is actually received and understood.

For Messengers on mute ask yourself:

  • If I could say one thing to the world what would it be?
  • Where is my right audience?
  • What obstacles are in the way of my message being delivered?
  • How have I allowed the message to get squelched?
  • What one step could I take to bring my message forward?

Regardless of size of audience, I encourage you to crystalize your Voice and allow it to bellow through the mighty canyons of your landscape. Imagine how that would feel!

How to Identify Stress Indicators in the Hands

What if you knew the source of stress showing up in your life, why it shows up, and what you can do about it?

When a line, or several lines extend across the hand from the inside of the palm just below the start of the Life Line and just above the inset of the Thumb, you’ll find a stress indicator a.k.a. attack line. Severity of stress is determined by a higher quantity of lines, or how deeply they are chiseled.

The hand map below shows a variety of pathways the lines can take.

Figure 1: The colored lines map a variety of ways attack lines can appear.

The etching reflects a repeated pattern of disequilibrium in a particular area of life. These types of lines are common to see in hands. In fact, it is unusual not to find a few of these lines inscribed diagonally across the palm – even in children.

Effective ways to overcome the obstacles can be addressed after pinpointing the length and quality of the impression of the line. In essence, the line becomes a rock solid opportunity-indicator for harnessing the undeniable problematic energy it represents. Specifics about the area of stress are deciphered by detecting where the line(s) ends.

They have been called attack lines because they originate in the area of the palm called Mars. To better understand these stress indicators let’s consider the Roman mythological archetype, Mars. He is known as the god of war always wearing a shield of armor; built to do battle in an instant. When Mars has a particular cause he stands tall, can become aggressive and even rageful. Women like Joan of Arc and Wonder Woman personify this archetype, too.

For example, if you see an attack line stretching across your palm and it ends under your ring finger then you might feel a looming sense of fear of rejection related to something you have created or want to create.

For example, putting yourself out there to make a spaghetti dinner for visiting friends can make you a nervous wreck over the quantity of each ingredient to combine so that it looks and tastes just right. When this fear is present then the, “I’m just sure I’m going to be criticized” radar is triggered. Not receiving applause for the dinner can even feel like an attack. This in turn could launch an immediate defense such as, “I know, if I would have used farm raised ground beef instead, this would be much better.” Keep in mind; none of the guests have yet said a word about the spaghetti dinner!

In this example, the owner can feel an inherent disapproval of his or her individualistic nature. Here is a bellowing call for courage! With the attack line ending under the ring finger, there is a call to feel the fear of the tomato and make the spaghetti anyway. It’s helpful to consider the worst-case scenarios but not to dwell on them, but instead to give them airtime and turn the obstacle into an opportunity for growth. The most important point is to reject the tomato fear and find a way into to your heart-felt creations.

Lines of Courage is another phrase I use for attack lines because there is a call for a change to balance the disequilibrium and change frequently requires courage to do something differently. Courage lines present an opportunity to discover and understand the source of conflict so that it can be harnessed for building a better life. But that takes bravery. The example of making the spaghetti dinner and presenting it to the guests even with paralyzing fear of rejection, takes a heavy dose of daring to put ones self at stake.

By knowing more about the meaning associated with the various end points of the lines in the hands we better understand the warnings, the positive and negative possibilities, and precisely how to use the God-given-glyph to cultivate a plan for growth.

Attack Lines Key Words: Conflict, struggle, aggression, opportunity, courage, determination

Attack Lines Positive: I dare to cultivate courage and protection to grow in this area of life [based on where the line ends]

Attack Lines Negative: My defenses are triggered [in this particular area where the line ends on the palm] and I become aggressive (or passive aggressive) against others and myself.

Mantra: I observe stress and conflict in particular areas and I stand strong in my courage for what is important to me. I harness this energy effectively for the greatest good of all concerned.

Key word for attack line termination points and where opportunity in change is calling:

Middle finger/Saturn: Security

Ring finger/Apollo: Rejection

Pinkie/Mercury: Trust issues

Pluto: Anger

Moon: Isolation
